Did anyone else watch AGs press conference? He seemed really defensive (no pun). Multiple times he answered the media’s questions by reminding them that the Lions are a “top 10 defense” according to the stats (which is true by total yards but we are 20th points allowed).

Idk, it rubbed me the wrong me the wrong way. We all know stats dont tell the whole story. And when asked about the trade deadline, he called a reporter’s statement “the stupidest thing you could say” in regards to adding more defensive help.

AG is gritty, sure, but he doesn’t seem to take the same accountability as the rest of the coaching staff. This is NOT a fire AG post. I just wonder if others get the same vibe as me.

I actually think AG will make a better HC than he does a coordinator. He seems like he is a great motivator that can manage & gameplan on a macro level & develop talent, but when it comes to the play to play X’s & O’s, as well as in-game adjustments on a micro level, he struggles to see beyond the bigger picture & to move off of the things he knows we do best when they are not working. I can honestly see him becoming a very successful HC one day soon, as I think the job better fits his skillset.

I actually agree. He can motivate players and all that but the schemes arent great (admittedly i dont know what im talking about-- but seeing wide open receivers every game SEEMS like a scheme issue.) I dont think he will ever be given chance to HC tho
