On PBE, it seems that if you have a bugged item, you will see the following message:

We seem to have found ourselves a small bug with this item. Please consider recalling and purchasing an upgrade in the shop as we do believe that it would be most beneficial to your further success.

This is what I said before, the dearest karthus stuff wasn’t bad/wrong or toxic, it was just harmless poking fun at what was said, if it was one of the things that made Phreak stop wanting to communicate I doubt this would have been added in game
