It is a fantastic vehicle with good range, decent charging, impeccable safety, built-in Android interface and Google Maps, and older models sell for similar prices to the Ioniq 5 / ID4 etc. I test drove it and it is luxuirous, comfy, and just a great and beautiful car. I don’t even see it mentioned almost ever.

I’m guessing perhaps the range, but the 2024 RWD model has around 300mi and AWD 256mi of range. Older ones around 220mi. I’m considering it above all others I’ve driven because it has better ride height and viewing angles for me as I’m tall with a very long torso.

For $55,000? You can get a long range Model Y for less with better range and charging, even better safety, better driver assistance, better sound system, better screen & navigation

A coworker was renting the XC40 and didn’t like it. I didn’t drive it but it seemed poorly engineered.

    • Frunk is tiny
    • Really bad backup camera on a small screen
    • Not nearly as spacious as a Model Y
    • Transmission hump in the back row

About average for a car company’s first EV built on an ICE platform. I do like the exterior look and overall dimensions.

You aint wrong on some but the Volvo has google maps built in AND a heads up display AND a center display all with maps. Can’t beat that. Tesla is safe but Volvo is the best at safety. Many gripe about phantom braking and Tesla not having 360 cameras etc, and the Volvo beats it there.

You’re right on space, but for my needs (any many others) definitely don’t need that much space. To each their own.

I also would NEVER get a car with a full glass roof here in the mountains. The sun is 4x stronger here than CA and hail is very common here and a huge risk.

        Agree on most points.

Navigation is subjective but I absolutely prefer Tesla’s to Google’s or Apple’s, mostly because the screen is so large, I have access to music while I navigate. Charging integration into navigation can’t be beat either.

Having lived without a heads up display I can say I don’t miss it at all.

Lack of USS is a very valid gripe for the Tesla. So stupid for them to remove those.

I have a bald head and have lived with the Model 3 in Arizona. No issues with the glass roof.

Tesla has better safety than Volvo contrary to very popular belief. All of Tesla’s models have better crash ratings that Volvo’s safest car ever. That’s just a fact, Jack.
