haha I feel that. My Forester is amazing but the AC takes 5+m to get cold!

What did you go with as a replacement? First I’ve heard of this problem
Doubt it the back seat is fairly cramped for an EV tbh
Yeah in modern cars it should be. You have to get the ultimate trim to get it which is stupid
How do you like the id4? I can’t stand the slowness and crappy UI
What are you hearing? It uses Android Automotive which from what I’ve used and seen in videos, it is intuitive and works well.
better range and charging, even better safety, better driver assistance, better sound system, better screen & navigation
You aint wrong on some but the Volvo has google maps built in AND a heads up display AND a center display all with maps. Can’t beat that. Tesla is safe but Volvo is the best at safety. Many gripe about phantom braking and Tesla not having 360 cameras etc, and the Volvo beats it there.
You’re right on space, but for my needs (any many others) definitely don’t need that much space. To each their own.
I also would NEVER get a car with a full glass roof here in the mountains. The sun is 4x stronger here than CA and hail is very common here and a huge risk.
ADAS
I heard it was good, where did you read it was poor
Nice. Excited to see these for sale as I believe they won’t be till January which is weird. Hoping to test drive it and see if the software is bearable
If maximum space for your buck, ease of charging, and spartan design is your bag then Tesla is absolutely the way to go
The ev6 and i5 for me had not enough ride height and viewing angles coming from a forester.
Damn sick deal tho. That+fed tax credit you could get a bolt for very cheap.
Doing a conversion it is 1.11CAD/L here in CO for gas, very inexpensive, but we have a good amount of EVs anyway as Denver is a very centralized city IMO. Thankfully decent charging in a lot of the state especially once Tesla chargers are open to all.
What are the benefits of Sodium Ion batteries then?
Some key points:
According to the report, the site will employ 7,500 workers with an average salary of $56,000
Once complete, Rivian’s Georgia plant is expected to be able to produce 400,000 EVs a year, compared to its Illinois facility, which is capped at 150,000.
The R2 “captures the essence of our brand,” but in “a smaller package and at a much lower price point,” according to Rivian’s CEO. Prices are expected to start at around $40K-$45K, compared to over $70K for the R1T and R1S.
I would hope most folks on this subreddit are fairly well informed in the tech space, and ignoring China’s incredible advantage here is just asanine
It’s a catch 22. People are much more likely to buy EVs if they feel more comfortable with charging. EV costs are still too high (as many buy used) and interest rates are crazy high
To play devil’s advocate, the cost of installing each charger is thousands, let alone for dozens of parking spots and then the electrical backend to support it. The recoup cost time frame has to be 10+ years which many apartment owners, without subsidies, aren’t likely willing to front.
The US is highing the HIGHEST default rate on car loans in 30 years. Over 6%. That is a ton. The economy is scary and shit right now.
About 10~" shorter length wise
