Definitely in favor of Best Supporting Actor. So many stellar performances gone underappreciated through the years.

As for Best Remake…first I think they it should be important to establish the rules and guidelines of what makes a remake vs a remaster. Also there could be years when one doesn’t happen OR it’s given to an lackluster game because of not enough competition in the category. Hell, it could encourage some companies just to throw something out there to claim it for an easy win and take home bragging rights for a year because of the award.

I mean…it’s a bit of a double-edged sword. On one hand, it could encourage some companies to finally release remakes of IPs that fans have long wanted and asked for for decades (cough: Dino Crisis). But on the other, it could encourage them to release unnecessary remakes too (cough: Last of Us Part 1) instead of focusing on something new. As it stands, it’s not like they have departments dedicated to either remakes or new games. It’s all one. So, a studio that could be making a new game is now encouraged to just remake something established instead.

Someone else said maybe they should do Best New IP instead and I completely agree.
