Now that I’m hoping everyone on the hype train has relaxed a bit, hopefully you can hear me without cooking the hell out of me

what some of you need to realize is dobbs has been in the nfl for 6 years. I get everyone has a bad game but dobbs hasn’t had a secure starting job basically ever in the long term. He was 1-7 with the cardinals and now 2-2 with the vikes. Not sure what his record is with other teams but it is likely we’ll below .500.

Not to mention he isn’t great at long throws either. While Kirk may not be back dobbs is not the long term answer. I’m not saying we should tank for draft picks cause fuck that but I truly believe Sean mannion could’ve won us that game ( hurts to say )

Dobbs is actually very good for what he is - a backup. Yes, that means he isn’t good for a starter - but he isn’t a starter, and this organization did not give up any starter-level capital to have him.

Meanwhile, he’s a great a dude, by all counts a great person to have in your organization, and he has a great story. I’m proud of the way he fought and at least his last play yesterday was a nice TD strike after a good drive.

He was a really nice story and quite frankly I like him as a person, and I always root for the Vikings. So I will continue to root for him and I don’t really mind the bad because it’s not like there are any expectations on him. It would be a different story if he was paid big money, or the Vikings gave up good draft capital for him, or he was drafted in the first round. But he’s not. He’s a career backup who has been given a chance and I’ll root for him happily because good or bad, he’s a Viking, and my expectations for the season went out the door when Kirk got hurt anyway.
