Just speculating whether Harris is going to replace Wright and why, why not.

Pros

  1. A little stability in your first ever NFL off-season would be nice
  2. He kept the ship afloat while Snyder was abroad avoiding press and subpoenas amidst multiple scandals
  3. No serious scandals that we know of during his tenure
  4. Worked well with keeping Metro open at night games

Cons

  1. The team has sucked during his tenure and he allowed Rivera to bring in his worthless nobodies to be GMs
  2. The Sean Taylor memorial debacle was humiliating
  3. Attendance and fan engagement has been awful
  4. Little to no tangible progress on the DC stadium
  5. New name is unpopular and the branding is ugly and boring

He has to go. I can forgive his many failures, except for one: The weekend that they retired Sean Taylor’s jersey with no proper ceremony or advance notice, he claimed that they’d had it planned for a long time and had simply failed to appreciate that fans would care. That’s dumb as shit but perhaps would have been forgivable.

The problem was, the players invited to the event reported that there had been no mention of a jersey retirement. It was supposed to be a road re-dedication (?) only. The number retirement was thrown together at the last minute in response to some awful scandal news, and Wright lied to the fans about it.

I don’t especially blame the guy for the team’s numerous stupid blunders – some of that’s just a symptom of working for a bad boss. But I do blame him for personally lying to fans about a memorial service, just so that he could run PR interference for an awful man.

Jason Wright was rich before he took this job, and he’ll be rich his entire life. That was the moment he should have resigned, but instead, he signed the dotted line as a member of Snyder’s lying, disgusting crew.

    Fire him.
