Spent the day with the family taking Christmas pictures. I take it there’s nothing I want to see here, right, guys?

I’ve been around this block many times, as many of you have. There’s something that happens in a fucked season, where you’re de facto eliminated early – nearly everyone associated with the team becomes impossible to evaluate. Players make a lot of business decisions, everyone takes downs off, and things generally fall apart. It’s really hard to know who’s washed, who sucks, who might be good, etc.
I feel like, even given that, EB has demonstrated that he’s not up for a head coach job now (or possibly ever). He’s made enough obviously weird and dumb decisions to pretty much rule himself out. The earlier logic of “keep him around not to sacrifice the progress he’s made with Howell” is butting up against “get rid of him before his influence is harmful to Howell’s future.” I think that’s true whether you think Howell is the guy or not.
I’m not worrying thaaaat much about it.
He’s got the turf toe thing probably lingering. EB’s scheme (and the lack of OL) doesn’t favor WR performance. Guys covering him get a lot of safety help. Probably most important, he’s probably REALLY tired of being on a dogshit team that’s probably eating itself alive in the locker room.
Guys like Terry don’t tank or dog it or anything, but players aren’t robots, and there’s no point in denying that emotion can be a difference maker. Get him healthy and put him in a good spot, and I think he’s in that pack again.
He has to go. I can forgive his many failures, except for one: The weekend that they retired Sean Taylor’s jersey with no proper ceremony or advance notice, he claimed that they’d had it planned for a long time and had simply failed to appreciate that fans would care. That’s dumb as shit but perhaps would have been forgivable.
The problem was, the players invited to the event reported that there had been no mention of a jersey retirement. It was supposed to be a road re-dedication (?) only. The number retirement was thrown together at the last minute in response to some awful scandal news, and Wright lied to the fans about it.
I don’t especially blame the guy for the team’s numerous stupid blunders – some of that’s just a symptom of working for a bad boss. But I do blame him for personally lying to fans about a memorial service, just so that he could run PR interference for an awful man.
Jason Wright was rich before he took this job, and he’ll be rich his entire life. That was the moment he should have resigned, but instead, he signed the dotted line as a member of Snyder’s lying, disgusting crew.
Fire him.
I don’t know all the other teams QB needs, but I suspect he’d be top 10. QBs have a pretty high bust rate, and he’s done a lot to show that he’s not a bust. I can see him getting picked over some higher-ceiling guys on that basis alone.
I think we’re inferring causation where it’s more of an unrelated correlation.
Jerruh?
I know that the right thing to do is technically to hold out until the end of the year and fire him then, like a normal team would do.
But fuck, man. I’m so sick of this motherfucker. Like, EB ain’t great at his job either, but at least the dude seems to care.
If anyone can sell me an argument that firing Ron now is good for FA retention or whatever the fuck, I am ready to buy.
I upvoted you because you’re right but also fuck you for real lol
LISTEN HERE, if you can’t get HYPED for a marginal chance to possibly FUCK DALLAS’s season up a little bit in the waning weeks of a lost season, you do not love COMMANDERS FOOTBALL.
Hampton Roads area. Older dudes say Redskins, gauge your reaction, and then correct themselves to Washington, with the correction being sarcastic if you didn’t flinch initially.
I personally tend to talk around it. Nothing they’ve tried sounds good.

There’s just no point. It creates needless drama and further locker room chaos. EB can’t be reasonably evaluated as a HC in six games, working with the staff that already brought us to this bad point. It makes Harris look rash, too.
I figure it’s not happening. There’s no real benefit to cleaning house before January, so that’s probably when we’ll do it.
Honestly more pissed about being forced to watch such a shit game than I will be about the loss.
This fluke ass game is going to weird up the Sweat/Chase before and afters.
“They’re only bringing four.” No. It was five and that’s why they had to punt.
Well that’s one way punt. Pinned em deep
Yeah, QBs aren’t rotational players, so it’s typical to draft a guy you want to play (1 or 2) or you bottom feed for prospects and backups. 3, 4, and 5 are usually guys you expect to get on the field.
In defense of JDR, he is making it really easy for fans to learn more about football by starting with the absolute basics and reinforcing them by rarely deviating from them. I do think I’m ready to learn about some more advanced schemes at this point, though.
It almost doesn’t matter. He looks pretty good to me, but it’s hard to evaluate him when the OL sucks on their best day and the team is falling apart.
If someone wants to back up the trade-value Brinks truck for Sam Howell, you take them up on it, because value is value, and we’ll be in a position to replace him if we have to. And if we draft a QB with Sam on the roster, that’s fine, too. Having two good QBs on a team is a good problem that’s easily solved. And if we don’t draft QB and roll with Sam, well, fuck, that’s also okay, because he’s cheap and probably not going to be meaningfully worse than the rest of the team next year, anyway.
