The Raps really need their point guard of the future now.

It will probably take a few years for a prospect to get established. So they need to find someone now that will take over after Schroeder’s contract is finished. That is, unless you believe Dennis will have a late career bloom like Lowry.

The ideal pick ups would be someone like pre-trade Lowry, pre-trade Haliburton, or pre-trade SGA (I know, not a PG).

So who do you think is the next PG that has a high ceiling, but hasn’t shown it yet?

I’m imagining someone you could trade Siakam for and it seems like you’re giving too much. But then in 3-4 years, you’ll say the Raps won the deal.

For example, I bet Cason Wallace will look really good in 3-4 years.

    jaden ivey

Not a PG, he was jut forced to be one because Cade was out last season

    killian hayes

As a reclamation project/swap for Flynn, sure but he’s more or less a bust as a starter level player

    davion mitchell

He’s a year younger than O.G. What potential?

I think if he’s a starter you could get 15/5 a night with 2nd/3rd all defense as his ceiling. That’s not bad. Not sure if it’s a long term fit though, might just be a late bloomer kinda guy like Pascal.

I do enjoy the idea of hayes, very versatile and seems to be improving as a shooter. I dunno why they have him playing the 2 guard with Cade

Well for Hayes, it’s mostly the Pistons not embracing Jaden Ivey despite him being the better player, with a small part being that Hayes is a much better defender than Ivey

Davion Mitchell and Simons are not PG.

Mitchell is a small guard and an offensive liability, but a plus defensively.

Simons is a pure shooting guard that has a big contract, so not particularly relevant for this thread.
