Title. Making this post because for a long time after they snapped our playoff drought, they were probably my favorite AFC team aside from the Bills. In a way, we have them to thank for helping kick off our identity as a fanbase that likes to give back. After Damar’s injury, the players and coaching staff were a class act from what I saw.
After the playoff game though, it seemed like a lot of the Bengals’ players felt slighted by the NFL’s decision to not resume the game and took pleasure in knocking us out. Maybe I’m just bitter over the loss, but that really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m curious to see if others feel similarly, or if I’m just letting the actions of a few loudmouths color my perception of a team and fanbase inappropriately.
Don’t like the Bengals, never have. They’ve knocked the Bills out of the playoffs 3 times over the years. They’ve employed a large number of the dirtiest players and biggest scumbags in NFL history. And the fawning over Dalton six years after the drought ended is cringey af. Dalton didn’t “end the drought,” the Bills did. FTB.
Their fanbase is probably like every other fanbase…mostly cool, with a few knuckleheads.
