Watching the Clippers makes me so appreciative that we have one of the most team-centric superstars in the league. So many stars literally stand around not doing shit when they don’t have the ball, and them not even trying on defense is usually excused because of the “offensive load” they have to carry. Then you look at Shai, and he is cutting and setting screens when he doesn’t have the ball, and is absolutely tenacious on D despite his drive heavy load on offense, which is undoubtedly much more tiring than jacking 3 pointers. On top of that, he just wants to be one of the guys. He never puts himself above the team, and is always giving credit to his teammates. We literally couldn’t ask for a better leader and superstar.

Yep, I’m grateful for Shai. It’s painful to watch other stars who only stand and ball watch when they don’t have the ball.

And this is also why I don’t feel sorry for certain Thunder players who don’t get playing time. If SGA can give so much effort on both ends of the court (while taking on so much of the offensive load!), than why should any other player get a pass?
