They talk about (around 20 min mark), that our roster construction the past years has been about primarily supporting LeBron. Whether its getting shooters or ball handling, but now we need to sort of shift to primarily supporting AD, if we really want him to the best player. This means grabbing second or third actual bigs to help him. They talk about him banging out every game and him constantly playing with knacks all through the game because he is forced to play the lead role defensively doing literally everything down there, as well as doing everything down low on offense. It isn’t sustainable. That is why games like yesterday happen. The one year we did prioritize getting bigs, we won it all. I know we have all been asking for more bigs, but the reason of this post isn’t for that, its for people to understand that what were asking for from AD is flat out insanity for him to sustainably do it EVERY SINGLE GAME. We always say “Get Bron help”, his help is AD, but in order to unlock him, we actually need to HELP AD.

Did we prioritze getting bigs that year? We got Javelle, and Howard on a contract that was a show me deal, since very few other teams wanted him. If Howard didn’t work out (which was probable), not sure how that was making bigs a priority. Fortunetly it did work out, but it could have gone either way. And then they didn’t play Javelle much in the PO’s.
