They talk about (around 20 min mark), that our roster construction the past years has been about primarily supporting LeBron. Whether its getting shooters or ball handling, but now we need to sort of shift to primarily supporting AD, if we really want him to the best player. This means grabbing second or third actual bigs to help him. They talk about him banging out every game and him constantly playing with knacks all through the game because he is forced to play the lead role defensively doing literally everything down there, as well as doing everything down low on offense. It isn’t sustainable. That is why games like yesterday happen. The one year we did prioritize getting bigs, we won it all. I know we have all been asking for more bigs, but the reason of this post isn’t for that, its for people to understand that what were asking for from AD is flat out insanity for him to sustainably do it EVERY SINGLE GAME. We always say “Get Bron help”, his help is AD, but in order to unlock him, we actually need to HELP AD.

This is on Pelinka. Center AD should be saved for the playoffs primarily. I think we have a large enough sample size both ways to determine he needs to have another true big on the team.

I think we would’ve been better if we traded for Buddy+Turner

Even moreso if we were able to include Brogdon

But spacing and playmaking are also needed for AD, since he can no longer self create or hit a jumper as efficiently.

“He can’t self create” is such a lazy narrative. He’s literally been the most efficient high volume post up scorer in the league so far this year.

I’d counter that by saying AD needs to make this a possibility by actually getting his shot back.

You don’t want to bang down low? Fine, I totally get it, but if you want another guy to support you so you don’t have to do that, you have to also do the work to make yourself playable next to them.

Daniel Theis YOU are, much to my chagrin, a LOS ANGELES LAKER

If is the case then the Lakers should get Vucevic from the Bulls. Can shoot the 3, rebound, and defend the paint decently. People say that his defensive weakness is being slow footed in the pick and roll but that can be negated playing next to AD.
Vuc for Dlo straight up or throw in Gabe and a pick for Caruso.

    ALL OF THIS

People love to compare AD & Giannis and don’t mention that Giannis has TWO guys in MIL who finished in the top 5 of DPOY, one of which is 7 feet plus and does all the actual dirty work so Giannis could roam & disrupt things.

Like you said it’s no coincidence that the year we had a team that catered to AD’s strengths we won it all

Did we prioritze getting bigs that year? We got Javelle, and Howard on a contract that was a show me deal, since very few other teams wanted him. If Howard didn’t work out (which was probable), not sure how that was making bigs a priority. Fortunetly it did work out, but it could have gone either way. And then they didn’t play Javelle much in the PO’s.
