Don’t even bother explaining. It’s useless… but 100% agreed. Levine actually fits exactly w/ the Lakers need. Someone who can get to the rim or setup open shots for others. He’s elite at rim pressure, catch and shoot when he’s not the lead ball handler. His D is on par w/ Russell though.

Rob is a horrible GM. People want to give him his flowers for dumping the mess he started, and people act like the trade deadline was amazeballs for him, but it wasn’t. This is just stupid fan reaction nonsense.
What actually happened was the LAkers got stuck w/ players that other teams didn’t want, and don’t know how to win. It’s not about just TALENT at this level. People in here don’t get that. Rui, has talent, but he plays like a Rec player. Pass him the ball and forget about it, the ball is going up. Dlo doesn’t know how to win and do the little things, let alone play D. Vando plays hard, but has no offensive skills and a fairly low bbal IQ.
There’s a reason Rob “fleeced” these teams, as fans in here had been saying. But in reality that Lakers are stuck w/ contracts on players that won’t lead them where they need to go. Look at how the elite franchises build right now and what they covet. High Bball IQ players who can shoot and are willing to play both sides of the court.

WTH is going on w/ the offense? I know they gave up a ton of points, and the defense is suspect too, but the offense, good lord. Why are there so many times that two people are running to the same spot? It was a LITTLE better this game, but the Cleveland game it was happening a lot, and continually killed their spacing.
I don’t have confidence that the team knows what they are doing, and the grace period is over. They have way too much talent on this team to be at the bottom in just about all offensive ratings.
Can’t believe I wasted ~30 mins arguing w/ some numskull on here about how bad Henderson was since he returned vs what Freeman was doing and how much better Freeman was at hitting those gaps.

I still don’t understand why a high IQ player like LBJ is so bad w/ clock management down the stretch. Nearly every time in these spots he’s slow to get into sets and then just dribbles the clock away. This should have been a 2 for 1.
Love LBJ of course… just gets frustrating to see the same thing happen over and over.

Shooting coaches? ?
Nearly all players have their own shooting coaches.
Play design is fine as well. It’s optimized for open outside looks, which the Lakers are getting. They just aren’t knocking them down.
The sweep to Henderson on 3rd and goal at the 2 was… wow, we must be tanking. And ya, the pass call was like… wth? Why would you give them a chance and stop the clock like that. Made zero sense.
I firmly believe McVay is one of those perfectionist that self sabotages when he gets close to his end goal. Too much proof of it, and if it wasn’t for one miracle Stafford to Cupp down the middle play, he would have been 0-2 in the SB.
Despite the fact that the 5 out offense sucks for anyone that isn’t an elite elite elite penetrator, AR despite his struggles still has a decent slash line. Yet Laker “fans” are so eager to become Philly fans, it’s gross.
13/5/5 on 44/34/81 shooting splits isn’t horrible. People are acting like he’s killing the team and totally sucks.

Neither… Prince is playing fine and his defense has been some of the best perimeter defense we’ve had so far this year. Look at the data homie.
Did we prioritze getting bigs that year? We got Javelle, and Howard on a contract that was a show me deal, since very few other teams wanted him. If Howard didn’t work out (which was probable), not sure how that was making bigs a priority. Fortunetly it did work out, but it could have gone either way. And then they didn’t play Javelle much in the PO’s.

He’s 20 fkn y/o and has a lot of potential. He’s only played a handful of games. Chill the fk out… and try supporting the players for your team instead of just trashing them.
It needs players that can create shots for others, in this ill thought out offense. So he fills a big need actually… but it all comes down to what’s the price going to be?
I’m not a fan of 3 star lineups, but this is a combo that could work.
