I’m not a football expert. I just love my team, including through the last 7 years of pain.
The Buffalo game felt so different, because I was so nervous. No longer just wondering how much we’d lose by or looking for signs of progress despite the loss. Suddenly there was that knot in my stomach fuelled by…hope.
Now, I don’t know how to feel.
-
Have we basically just left the trash ranks of the Patriots, Panthers etc but are still in the bad ranks like the Jets, Commanders etc.
-
Or are we at the start of a climb, so more like the Vikings, Browns, Bengals.
-
Or are we still trash and just got a bit lucky?
-
Or are we actually amazing?
I need some emotional grounding here, folks. What is this team?
our secondary has thankfully turned into one of the best in the league. Obviously biased but I think PS2 is the best corner in the league, Simmons is a top safety and Moreau has been pretty solid
Our LBs are probably average
I unfortunately am not super optimistic. The run defense still appears to be a complete liability, and they have some strong running teams coming up.
Mahomes and Reid can’t help themselves, they want to air it out. When the Bills started handing the ball off, Cook absolutely gashed the defense. If he wasn’t doing a spot on Melvin Gordon impression with all the fumbles they probably could’ve just taken the game out of Allen’s hands completely and got the W. They lost to the jets because they couldn’t stop the run.
They’re scoring points against elite defenses, but they’re also extremely turnover dependent and they still don’t capitalize as much as one would expect. Facing a team coming up with an elite defense that will commit to pounding the run, I’m worried it’s going to be ugly.
Still trash and got lucky
