Hook combo is the only thing this character had going for it. I’m not a fan of when they just completely nuke a characters identity. Same thing with zen discord, zen has been trash for a long time why mess with the whole reason to pick the character. Next up is probably anti nade and again yeah it’s strong but why else are you picking Ana? Yeah I’m in metal ranks, but balancing the game off of the top 2000 players and streamer outcry is just dumb to me. Maybe make the 90% of players that keep the lights on a higher a priority, because at these levels of the game you miss hooks, you miss nades. Just because something is possible with incredible accuracy and precision doesn’t always trickle down to the largest majority of play the game has.

I disagree. Though the hook was less of a problem, his high survivability was.

because ana players hadn’t proliferated ranked by S1 and S2. It was from S4 that Ana & Zen started re-emerging consistently in almost every ranked match.

Part of the reason is I guess new players didn’t know enough to play Ana and Mercy/Kiriko (healbot version) were easier picks for new players.

Hog was super strong in S1 and S2, not because he’s actually strong but because newbie supports had no idea to deal with him and at higher ranks Kiriko’s lower cleanse cooldown helped matters.

The moment Ana became mainstream again from S4 it was over for Hog. Even me who is total garbage at Ana could climb to Plat in less than a week just by spamming anti-heal. It’s so fking broken it’s not even funny.

Also note, the top 10-20 tanks (from what I remember) were still Zarya (S1) and D.Va (S2). Hog players weren’t at the top 10.
