In my own games and watching cyx, the consensus seems to be ana is much worse for hog now as she’s even more incentivized to anti him, but aside from breather (probably, don’t know what changes ana and zen are getting in season 8) needing a little nudge upwards, I think he’s in a great spot. I feel threatening at all times when playing hog now instead of just when hook is off cooldown, his gun feels great, the trap is very fun (especially as a junkrat player) and hooking someone as long as you plan for a combo with pre fire or trap almost always leads into a kill if they aren’t a tank. I love it.

Hog is good now top 500 at least ana is not even a factor because kiri and bap exist he never dies im rolling but equally getting rolled his biggest buff is that breather is on a charge now dont get how people are saying it’s worse considering his old breather would get cced every time. hog is good now and annoying to fight now don’t know about other ranks but he’s a boulder in top 500
All they had to do was fix the hook and increase damage by 25 per shot. Typical blizzard to just fuck shit up more.

I am taking a step back from over watch for a few days until til everyone stops playing hog. self love is important in these trying times.
For real. I played yesterday and today and I’m sick and tired of hog mirrors. I play with my friends and I tend to play aggressively. It’s been aggravating because if I get hooked and die I know my team is dead most of the time because I see how they play and they’re not really good 😭. Today was the first time I ragequit with them because they don’t know how to play against hog to save their lives. That was 3 hours ago and I’m still irritated 😀.
Please blizzard… just give us the chainsaw
I personally find him more fun both to play as and against. However a lot of that is trampled when characters like Ana and Zen can still effortlessly shut down tanks.
Fun and better. But still bad. They didn’t fix his biggest issues
I don’t have an opinion yet. I don’t play tank, and I really haven’t seen any hogs on my team or the enemy team in any of my games since the rework (master 2).
Hog being too good or too bad in high elo was always a support problem. Kiri/suzu being too strong or Ana/ante being too strong.
This hog is better then the last hog. IMO too much DMG and not enough survivability both need to be fixed. Nothing hurts more then getting hooked and killed faster in a 1v1 with him then a DPS. But then as a support player I can’t fucking stand when he gets anti without a shield he just goes poof. (So tbh I think anti needs to be healing reduction if this is going to be fixed since the next tank will prob have the same issue)
It doesn’t address the problem he’s always had. No mobility, not affective at all distance outside of his hook, and no way to defend his team outside of his big blubbery body blocking shots. Hes just a damage magnet and with Zen and Ana he’s done. They worked on him for about a year, supposedly, and this is what they came up with: basically the same.

His hook can’t even one shot anymore and yet it still has 6 years of nerfs still attached to it. Seriously what the fuck is his hook for? “Pulling people out of position”? They have to be fucking next to you for your hook to reach them anyway, and not if they’re standing remotely close to a ledge/ corner, because then your hook will just disconnect from them anyway. They took a character that was well designed and had a certain personality and playstyle to his kit and they nuked it into a weird hybrid that just feels awkward
