I know our line sucks because the QB gets hit every play and Henry is constantly getting hit in the backfield. Plus our constant penalties. Every so often it’s clear when the Tackle gets run over or whiffs on a block getting the QB obliterated. But the amount of takes on this sub about how Skoranski has been good or (insert individual) has been good blows me away. Like the camera angles usually don’t allow to seriously follow interior lineman (or lineman in general) unless that’s your entire focus. I can’t confidently say Skoranski has been good, and I don’t really take the PFF grades as anything legitimate. So are people blowing smoke, or is Skoranski looking like a good pic up?
I don’t need to send dogshit to the lab to confirm it’s dogshit. I know it when I see it.
Because he is, that poor guy is a rookie and having to do two-three other peoples jobs
I don’t think Skoronski is 100%. Appendix can bone you especially at a position that is using its core so much. Otherwise he has shown some signs of elite play.
You could watch film yourself instead of telling people they are “blowing smoke” for replying to your thread.
Also if you are this shocked sports fans form baseless strong opinions about their franchise then I got a bridge to sell you.
There must be something in the water.
I agree with OP here. I’ve seen all the grades and don’t see him get beat as much as our LTs, buttttttt what do we REALLY know as fans? Like do any of us know/see enough to be positive he’s the only one doing his job? Love skronk and glad we drafted him, but interested to see a breakdown of his performance from someone with real game knowledge as well.
This sub loves to echo. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for not saying we need to lose every game possible this year but FTJ and go Tits!
I typically rewatch the all 22 from the week before on Saturdays using NFL+ subscription. Very easy to see the OL play with the high end zone cam and usually the wide angle wire cam as well.
I’m not a professional analyst, so I take even my own analysis with a grain of salt, but it’s very clear that he holds his own in the pass and run game. He also has a lot of responsibility trying to help out the LT a lot of the time.
The stats bear this out, he’s only credited with allowing 1 sack, he’s visually and statistically allowing less pressures than anyone else on the line.
To add to this personal view, there are people who are literally paid to analyze these types of things (Schwartz, Baldy, PFF, and more) and I’ve only read good things about him so far. If you don’t trust those guys and you also don’t watch film yourself, I don’t know what to tell ya.
Take PFF w/ a grain of salt. According to PFF Kenny Pickett‘s game against us was better than Levis’s debut. They have Cal ThrockMorton our new guard w/ a 45 grade on the year, despite the fact he hasn’t allowed a sack. There’s no way to properly grade lineman without knowing what the protection was supposed to be. I think Skronk has looked good for the most part. He does get pushed back but he always stays in front of his man and when he anchors they stop.
All-22. That’s the answer you’re looking for
