  • The roster construct makes no sense if you have an undersized QB you need good interior guys so he has space to throw. The Saints had the best guards and center in the league when they had Breese. This is why Im confident we‘ll win Sunday, the strength of our team is our interior DL; Simmons, Autry, Tart dominate good lines, and that’s your weakness. I think you’ll have to run a bunch.

  • Plus he has had tightrope surgery on both of his ankles.

Tight End is like running back where they get so beat up that their availability past week 4 or 5 is always in question. Look at the tight end class we just had in 2023, all these guys area either injured or inconsistent, only it was called the best TE class of all-time. Only Sam LaPorta has a higher PFF grade than Whyle.

Taking a TE that high is just too risky. If Bowers was some 6’7 270 pound Gronk like unstoppable figure I’d take a shot but he’s not, I think he’s going to just be an above average TE that gets injured frequently.

  • Levis’s arm is bananas, another game with multiple 50+ air yard completions. He has 4 of the 8 longest air yard TDs this year. Imagine what this offense may look like once we get him adequate protection and a couple speedy receivers?

Play calling was conservative to a fault. Watching back I don’t think our line needed as help as Vrabel was giving them. Prior to the Hubbard injury Duncan was in as a 6th lineman for most snaps.

Good game for us at this point seeing Levis flash and positioning ourselves to get a higher pick.

  • Take PFF w/ a grain of salt. According to PFF Kenny Pickett‘s game against us was better than Levis’s debut. They have Cal ThrockMorton our new guard w/ a 45 grade on the year, despite the fact he hasn’t allowed a sack. There’s no way to properly grade lineman without knowing what the protection was supposed to be. I think Skronk has looked good for the most part. He does get pushed back but he always stays in front of his man and when he anchors they stop.

  • Will can do play extension. He scrambled for 17 TDs in college. The problem is Vrabel does not want play extension, he wants the QB to stand strong in the pocket and go through his reads; like a Ryan Tannehill, Big Ben, Joe Burrow or Tom Brady. Remember how he reacted to Malik scrambling last year? Problem is that we don’t have the protection for it, so this is really more about developing Will for when we do have the protection for him.
