@ToothPickLegs just posted the opposite of this, but who are your all time under the radar players that never got enough love? I’ll go first with Tyson AluAlu between 2017-2020 before the foot injury. Going from basically a bust in Jacksonville to holding down the middle and anchoring the run defense for a number of years for the Steelers feels like it went unnoticed. In 2021 when he was injured the run D fell off a cliff too.
Mike Hilton was awesome in the slot.
Heyward-Bay reinvented himself in Pittsburgh and became an elite ST player, a mentor for younger receivers and did whatever he was asked to. Gotta respect a workhorse.
Bam Morris
Mewelde Moore
Deshea Townsend
Lawrence Timmons. He was a run stopping machine. Every game you would constantly hear “Timmons on the tackle.” coming over the PA system.
Mike Hilton
Bud Dupree. William Gay.
Darrius Heyward Bey. Guy was a “bust” because he was drafted so high but man he worked and came up clutch when needed. Special teamers never get enough love.
Jeff Reed. Fuck them paper towel holders
Ramon Foster.
Gary Anderson, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.
