Lets try and get some perspective. Whatever happens with Bill and the Pats, we should try and remember the excellence that we all enjoyed over the last 20 years. We somehow came to take for granted winning the AFC ( which we did 9 times ) and 9 Superbowl appearances with 6 titles… None of that happens without Bill. The Bill-Brady combo was a powerhouse, and we all benefitted. Whether Bill goes somewhere else, JUST LIKE BRADY DID, we should lay off the daily beatings. 3rd winningest coach in history, he deserves our respect.

If BB were in Kraft’s position, he’d fire himself.

I’m guessing most of the people who are truly hating on Bill are young who don’t really remember the early years with him or they are just bandwagen “fans.”

Legitimately baffling to see people want him gone lol. I agree he needs help on the GM side but he’s still the greatest coach of all time.

What are people expecting if he’s fired? Is that really going to make us a better team?

You can appreciate the work hes done for the past 23 years and still acknowledge how miserable hes been drafting and coaching on offense lately.

After four years of getting progressively worse offensively, due in large part to his absolutely anemic drafting. i don’t think Belichick is the guy who is going to get us out of this problem.

    It’s honestly kinda embarrassing.

The fanbase is coming off as so childish and spoiled. The Patriots were a super bowl contender for 20 years straight… won 6 of them, got to 9. Fuck man we’ve won a Super Bowl less than 6 years ago.

I honestly wonder how much the national and regional media wants to see him gone for the storyline and the fact that they just hate him.

Yeah I really don’t care that the team stinks. Six rings

Obv I’d like them to turn it around and that future might not involve Bill, but even if that ends up being true, I’ll still only have good things to say about him. Six rings.

You can appreciate and respect BB for what he’s brought the franchise the past two decades yet still criticize his moves and think it’s time to move on.

My issue is that people are reacting like we have a BB Jr in waiting if we fire him. We are putting a lot of faith in Mayo to be a HC. People don’t realize BB is very intertwined in every aspect of the football operations. Losing him would be a big step back in general running of the team. He has built up the origination from ground up, so he’s essentially the backbone of the team. So we need to be really careful if and when he’s gone. It’s going to be like Apple without Jobs. Not saying Tim Cook didn’t succeed, in fact, he is doing tremendously well, but it was good that Apple groomed him. Do we have that in Mayo?

No. I’d rather be critical of Belichick than be his ball washer.

Belichick has single-handedly destroyed this franchise over the last 6 years. Bill suddenly got this idea that he didn’t need to invest in good players. His ego got the better of him, and now he’s old and refuses to make changes.

Because Brady was so good, Belichick thought his system was infallible. He could put any average Joe into any position and still win. As a result, the players on this team — specifically offense — have gotten worse and worse in service to that “system”.

Belichick is old and washed up. He’s lost touch with the game and there’s no coming back from that. It happened to every great coach who stayed too long — especially Shula.

The reality is this. Belichick for whatever his accolades and greatness is working in a “what have you done lately for me” field. So most fans don’t care about the former glory they want to win now.

The voices in the sub can’t even admit to themselves how bad the foster is overall and seem to think “oh but if we draft Caleb Williams this team is Super Bowl bound!!” And you expect rational mindsets to prevail?

Nah. The team is a shit show right now. Which brings about a shit show form the fandom who predominantly is a bunch of children who don’t think time existed before 2001.

BB should have tanked for trevor lawrence the same way colts tanked for luck. The way it’s going drafting in the middle for some years after drafting at end for 20+ years, while your team isn’t a FA and trade huge destination, this rebuild will take a long time. Longer time than BB actually have.

Two things can be true: Bill had an amazing run where he regularly surrounded himself with the best people for the team for about 15 years , oversaw great gameplans and in game adjustments. He also has done the opposite for the last 6-7 with some dreadful drafts, questionable Free agent decisions and putting buddies in coaching positions they weren’t qualified for instead of scouring for the best available coaches.

I can’t come on this sub anymore. I saw this on my front page. It’s sad how fast people flipped on him and Brady (before he left) I hate most of you people.

Y’all are no different than delusional ass cowboy fans who constantly live in the past. Yall give all the credit of the past 20 years to strictly to bill, when we had the greatest qb to play. When players would take paycuts to come play with Tom, when players would take pay cuts for a chance to compete for a Sb.

Bill is a terrible gm, and he’s 71 years old. It’s time to move on and stop being delusional. Yes he was the greatest coach for about 2 decades, but it’s time to move on and accept he isn’t the same coach from 20 years ago.

Andy Reid, old , adapted to a modern NFL

Pete Carrol has adapted to a modern nfl

John harbaugh - adapted to a modern nfl

This team, the offense, defense etc has been extremely boring and painful to watch
