Holly crap, I just turned on Clippers-Rockets game and bum, Theis is in the game! When did this happen? In Harden trade? I wasn’t paying attention to details. What did Indiana get for him?

I’ve been looking at our draft assets recently and although I think our rotation is good, I just feel like Brad will definitely make a trade because the man always maximizes the roster any way he can, he hasn’t gone a deadline without a trade, he’s the anti-Ainge. The TPE will expire after this year, and this is also the last year they can aggregate salaries in a trade while in the second apron, I just don’t think Brad will let all those opportunities go by.
We also have some sneaky good 2nds that are not only assets but make some of our firsts more expendable.
    Our picks:

    First rounds picks: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028 (Spurs Swap), 2030
*****only 2 of these picks are tradeable due to Stepien Rule, you need to have 1 pick every other year.
    Second round picks:

    • 2024: More favorable of Bulls/Pelicans, Mavs
    • 2025: Most favorable of Pistons/Wizards/Warriors/Mavs
    • 2026: Most favorable of Blazers/Pelicans/Knicks/Wolves, Own (Grizzlies Swap)
    • 2027: Hawks
    • 2028: Own (Protected top 45)
    • 2030: Own, Mavs

So overall we have 2 tradeable firsts between 24-27, and in 3 of those years we have potentially high second round picks with Bulls, Pistons/Wizards, and Blazers. So assuming we are contenders for all those years, our own first round draft pick might not be too far off from those picks.

Idk what the trade is, whether it’s Caruso or some under the radar trade, but I don’t think Brad will just sit still with all these assets and this last window of opportunity in the second apron.

I’ll start some Payton Pritchard propaganda. There are 2 players with a positive point differential without Jayson Tatum on the court for the Celtics:

PP +12.5 in 104 possessions, Al +0.1 in 103 possessions

He doesn’t have good numbers on the court with JB and KP, but he is quite effective in improving the other players point differential. Here is with him OFF

    • Hauser -10.1 (158)
    • Horford -4.0 (273)
    • DWhite +19.3 (445)
    • JT +20.2 (533)
    • Jrue +14.7 (590)
    • Kornet -50 (42)

Here are their numbers with PP ON

    • Hauser 20.9 (235)
    • Horford 28.4 (208)
    • DWhite +24.4 (124)
    • JT +23.4 (270)
    • Jrue +26.0 (169)
    • Kornet +27.7 (111)

Here is the overall swing in points differential.

    • Hauser 31.0
    • Horford 32.4
    • DWhite 5.1
    • JT 3.2
    • Jrue 11.3
    • Kornet +77.7 (probably not so relevant)

Please note this is from CTG and in parenthesis you have the possessions played for the previous numbers. This means garbage time (the whole 4th of Wizards and Pacers games for example) is excluded.

I love me some Payton Pritchard propaganda. Been pushing it all season.

Fun fact, since the Pacers game, (i.e. the game that people say “prop up” his advanced numbers), this is what PP has been doing in those 7 games after:

      • 3rd in Offensive Rating on the team
      • 4th in NetRating on the team
      • 3rd highest AST% on the team
      • 7.33 AST/TOV RATIO!!!
      • 2nd on the team in OReb%, (technically 3rd, but Banton has only played in 3 games)

Also, if you were to take a step back and just look at counting stats on the season, he’s not costing us more than he’s helping us on offense.

      • He’s missing 3.5 shots per game
      • He’s averaging 3.5 assists per game
      • He’s making 1.7 shots per game
      • He’s turning the ball over 0.6 times per game
      • He’s grabbing 1.4 ORebs per game

If you consider points, assists, and ORebs as winning possessions and turnovers and missed shots as losing possessions, he’s winning more possessions than he’s losing on offense.

Which All NBA guys who are exiting their prime soon would you want for the C’s in the next 3-5 years? (like Shaq, Jermaine O’Neal, Blake in the past)

Assuming he’s still ringless, it’d be cool to see Paul George come here as a 6th-8th man with Tatum to try and win one

I’m starting to worry about how much we are going to spend to keep DWhite given he plays on such a high level. Hope Wyc is generous.

i believe the max we can extend him for is 27ish mil per year. he isn’t getting more than that unless he becomes a free agent

i could see us giving him that amount though.
