I know this is controversial, and am in no way diminishing Joe Burrow he still is the truth. But even with better players that we have gotten over the past 2 years we still showing the same results on the line. Whether that be the fact we play in the hardest division with 2 of the best pass rushers in the NFL, and how Joe waits till the last possible second to squeeze ever ounce of a play. He has gone on record talking about how he only cares about being sacked in certain instances such and being kicked out of scoring range etc. All I am saying is we give alot of hell to Pollack and our o line but I’m not completely sure they deserve all the blame. I would like to finish with Joe Burrow is the man and I would want no one else but he is not blameless.

I think Joe is getting rid of the ball plenty quick most of the time

I am inclined to say at least part of the problem is we are trying to make starters out of some really low round guys at LG (4th round)and Center.(6th round).

It feels like, and I don’t know the numbers, but when they successfully are under center more often and utilizing play action that way, the line plays much better. Or should I say, the opposing defense isn’t waiting with pinned ears for a sack on every snap. Flipside is they’ve grown to live this way so they can always have multiple reviewing threats on the field. And, to their credit, it works a lot of times in the end

They aren’t as bad as they look. They are being hamstrung by the way the team choose to run the offense. They pass way too much and operate out of shotgun way too much, and defenses can tee off because they know they will be passing all game with virtually no run threat

Kind of, but it’s more nuanced than that. They need to run the ball more. Mixon should be carrying the ball at least 20 times the per game. We have games where he is running the ball well and then they just stop feeding him, its so frustrating. The scheme is another reason to look at it. We run out of the shotgun too much, and teams know we are going to pass. We should be using more under center looks. Plus, our o-line is one of the least athletic in the entire league. We definitely don’t play to their strengths, which is Taylor and Pollack’s fault. I think Pollack needs to go, for sure. But we also need to make changes to our scheme, as well as balance our offense by running the ball more.
