Dude is a good blocker and a check down beast, easily the most underrated player on our squad last year. Such a big loss. 😢

He’s an easily replaceable 3rd down back.

Vonn Bell was the player we should’ve kept. He was the straw that stirred the drink on defense. There are maybe 5 guys in the whole league that can reliably play slot-corner. He caused the INT that won the AFC in 2021.
CTB may get there, but he’s not special like Bell.

I think we pissed him off not paying Bates and then probably low-balled him too.

The rest of our division values safety play and pays them.

I would love if we actually replaced him though (we didn’t). I agree about Vonn though, def missing him big time this season. Secondary is lacking a sure tackler and hard hitter. Nick Scott was literally a wal-mart replacement just to plug someone in there.

Perine is much better for the offense that we run than Mixon. We are essentially in 3rd down sets all game because Burrow and Taylor love gun. Doesn’t really matter now though

Montgomery runs over people from his gun sets on the Lions. It’s really night and day vs Mixon immediately going down or tripping. It’s honestly shocking when he runs for 10 yards lol.

We offered him essentially the same amount the broncos did and he decided to go elsewhere. He was a good player but he wasn’t worth an overpay. Especially with the other contracts coming onboard.
