What I have learned from a season and a half of this coach is that when we have a lead, KOC is one of the worst play calllers in the league.

Last year we’d get a lead early, lose it, and Kirk would have to snatch victory from defeat at a historic mark once we were behind again.

This year much of the same with both Kirk and Dobbs. The last two weeks we’ve had comfortable leads and should have coughed up both because of multiple wasted possessions of wet-the-bed scared play calling.

With a lead, KOC shows the same lack of killer mentality that eventually ended his playing career. Coach not to lose and you’ll end up just that- a loser.

These last 6 quarters of play calling has me sick.

We had 10 points off the board last week that changes the game dramatically due to missed FG and holding call.

Why does everyone always need someone to blame? There’s a whole ass other team of NFL caliber players and coaches doing everything in their power to win too. We lost by one on the road to a team that’s also been hot. We shoulda won if we took better care of the football. Shit happens. Credit to their defense for being so opportunistic and pressuring Dobbs seemingly every drop back.

I do agree that the KOC era has left a lot to be desired in how we perform with a lead. But a lot of that is due to an inconsistent, if not non existent at times, running game. He finally had some success running the ball today and tried to take pressure off of Dobbs. Rushing attack disappeared in the Red Zone. That sucks. Needs to be better.

If he stopped running the ball after driving down the field with tons of runs, and failed, you all would’ve bashed him for going away from what was working.

Would I have passed it more down there? Probably. But I also don’t know all the details and game planning that they went into this week with. I don’t know how much of the offense Dobbs is comfortable with. I don’t know whether Denver was giving us looks that made running the more prudent option, and it simply failed. Who the fuck here knows all that?

THIS IS THE FUCKING TRUTH. This guy is so afraid to lose that he’s gets conservative, which makes us impossibly easy to play. It’s ruinous.

Such a waste. And for people saying, “it’s one game, and it’s not a division game.”

You’re right. It’s not that big of a deal — that’s why we’re supposed to win it! The last thing you want is to have your season on the line in a must-win game when you could have subverted that by beating a team that can only score field goals.

A waste of effort out there. This game just confirms the shit you wish we’d get past. Mattison. Weird play calls. Playing scared and giving up on dubs. Putting the team in precarious spots.

    Man. Wow

If it’s so easy to coach with a lead and just put teams away, how come there are multiple NFL games every week with last minute lead changes/come from behind victories?

Does anyone else get restricted from posting in game threads for saying this exact same thing?

Then we need to do something else to put games away, no? Remind me the definition of insanity again?

There is a high chance the OP has never played football in his life, and the closest experience to football coaching he has is madden. There’s also is also a chance he has never watched an all - 22 , and see who is open, and doesn’t know what concepts are on the field. He probably is just Sitting on his couch, yelling at KOC telling him to play aggressive.

I dont understand, Andy Reid and the Chiefs had the lead at halftime and halfway through the 3rd quarter last night, why didnt they just score more points? Got to have a killer mentality to win a Super Bowl, yes?

All those dropped passed might have something to do with it. The play calling was great. Execution, not so much.
