Yes, he had a bad game. But it wasn’t just him. EVERYONE had a bad game for reasons that have been talked to death in the last 24 hours. But I still think he’s our guy, and that we can be competitive within the next two seasons if we build a team around him. The O-line, the coaching, and the secondary are our biggest weaknesses right now.

Let’s put Howell in perspective. He realistically can’t take a 5 step drop back without almost a certain sack. This limits him to half the passing tools other QBs get to enjoy. He also has a limited run support game and is surrounded by players who drop passes or fumble with the simplest tackle. He’s doing fine. Build the line…fix the defense

The next coach and GM is not going to keep him, unless it’s EB, he’ll probably give Sam another shot. Minnesota, Atlanta, Rams, Green Bay, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, one of them might snag him if the new group doesn’t want him. I think he’ll still be here, but he is only going to be middle-of-the-road

Why would one bad game mean he wasn’t the guy? Fans are lunatics lol. So many on this sub remind me of that commercial where the fan lights all of his shit on fire after the 1st play of the game.

Right now Sam is still struggling with processing and timing and footwork. These are critical and you’ve seen it in his mistakes. He also throws to his first read 70% of the time.

The Ints were bad let’s be honest, and he’s now 18-12 and is tied for most interceptions. And the most sacked QB by a wide margin.

What Sam has is grit and a fucking arm. Like in the Seattle game, he was late to Dyami for the TD, but he had the arm to fit into a small window.

I keep saying it again, it too early to call him the guy, it’s too early to say he isn’t.

What I’m saying, if we end up 4-13. With a top 5 pick the new GM might try to get “his” guy.

Linebacker position might be even worse than the secondary. They’re both atrocious, though.
