A few reasons that jaylen doesn’t fit with our team

  1. Slow decision maker/poor passer. We need connectors around Tatum/KP/white, not bucket getters.

  2. He’s selfish/ego. Tatum hero balls without a doubt, (wish he would do so less) but he’s earned that. Jaylen isn’t good enough at it, but thinks he is.

  3. The contract is an albatross and is gonna hamper us resigning Jrue/white. Our squad is good without him, and we might be better with another elite connector.

That said who are elite connectors?

  1. Pascal siakam

Long asf, could be Al’s replacement. He would give us better rim protection and allow us to play a pseudo double big lineup. Also underrated playmaker, better than jaylen that’s for sure.

  1. Lauri Markannen (my pipe dream)

Long asf, Elite shooter. Our spacing could become godly. He can also eventually replace Al and allow us to play double big. The league is about size w/ skill nowadays and Lauri exemplifies this.

  1. Brandon Ingram

Long asf, Prolific passer. He runs NO offense and could give Tatum some serious breaks by initiating offense. Allows Tatum to play off ball more which I think he’s underrated at.

Honestly, these might all be pipe dreams, other teams know what jaylen is at this point. Even if we included all our tradeable picks, idk if it gets it done.

Thoughts?? Anyone other players you would love on this team.

I mean I’d keep him now. We could have traded him for Durant but that didn’t happen.

Ingram probably the smoothest transition, long asf, good midrange, used to playing with other star, probably the best true point forward in the league.

Siakam is great and allows us go against Giannis, but the worst offensively of the 3.

Lauri is great and allows us to play huge, high risk high reward because it might not work.

i wanna go another route tho, Mikal/Claxton

Here we go again, with the knee jerk reactions. It was a loss. There will be more of them this season, so take a breath and go back to your life and enjoy it.

one underrated replacement I think is Cade Cunningham, he will come cheap great passer, defender, and potentially a good shooter (his mechanics look really good). This will be similar to the Porzingis trade and we get some more future asset for making future trade. I think Cade is miscast as #1 option and Detroit is looking for someone with more proven star power (jaylen) to be #1 option. They can then handed the offense over to someone like Jaden Ivey (more traditional PG).

Please tell me that you just wrote this to make people angry.

Siakam for Brown would be a lateral move. This has been done to death. He passes it a little better but he doesn’t space the floor. Kind of seems like space is something we’re going for, no?

Lauri Markannen is a terrible defensive player. He also never passes. This is particularly outrageous.

Ingram for Brown is a lateral move. He passes a bit, but he also turns it over even more than Jaylen and is otherwise basically Jaylen with worse defense, less personality, and no playoff experience.

The difference between Boston and Toronto/Utah/New Orleans is that last night was a big disappointment for us. In those other towns, and for those other players, it’s just another night.

Been saying it for a while jaylen brown doesn’t fit with this team nearly as well as Marcus smart did. Now with this big contract he’s even more of a liability

If we fail to win the title, I’m not against:

BOS In: Jaren Jackson, Jr., Marcus Smart

    BOS Out: JB

There is a level of obsession that becomes really unhealthy and I hope everyone remembers that this is a hobby for us- not a job. Don’t spend time hating what you can’t control- have fun with the game.
We’re 11-3. JB is a 2 time all star and 1 time All-NBA. He hasn’t even played 15 games yet this season. We have the best record in the NBA. Take a deep breath, remember that it’s a long season, and wait until at least midseason before panicking.
