I’ve seen way too many of these takes since our loss and they’re just so laughably dumb. People saying that he has already checked out, or that his off the field interests have become more important to him than success with the Chiefs. (Or that somehow his love life is dragging him down.)

Kelce is the Chiefs’ leading receiver in basically every category that counts. Receptions, yards, TDs, YPC, you name it. But when you point that out people say, “well yeah, because our receivers suck…”

OK, they do - so how is Kelce doing vs other TEs in the league? How about this:

  • #2 in receptions (with 2 fewer games played than #1)
  • #3 in yards (again, fewer games than #1 and #2)
  • #1 in yards/game
  • Tied for #2 in TDs

Yeah, he’s lost a step, but the man is still balling out for this team while some of you act like he’s a shadow of his former self.

Kelce has played 9 games and put up 641 yards and 5 TDs. Project that to a 17 game season, and that’s 1210 yards and 9 TDs. That would be better than Kelce’s 2021 numbers. If he hadn’t missed the first game of the season, we’d be 8-2, he’d have maybe 700 yards, and no one would be chirping.
