Fair - it deserves some study. But I have definitely seen a lot of dropped/deflected Mahomes passes where I thought, “this is the price we pay for a QB with a rifle for an arm”

Cold football + hard throwing QB = dropped passes. There’s a reason Brady wanted the balls deflated.
Yeah, but his effort on every play creates the space for the blitzers to get theirs, too. He’s a real asset, even on the plays where he doesn’t get a statistic.
Karlaftis is on a TJ Watt trajectory.
Travis is on pace to have a slightly better season than he had in 2021, and everyone’s acting like he’s cooked.
Last year was way worse. Remember the ball that skipped off Toney’s hands and ended up a pick against the Lions? Last year we had 6(!) such interceptions. It feels like deja vu watching everyone freak out, demand a #1 receiver, declare we’ll never win a Super Bowl this way, etc.
It definitely gives us that “no one believes in us, except the people in this locker room” juice!
I have one thought. There’s a reason you’re not a GM. This is a terrible plan.
Kelce has played 9 games and put up 641 yards and 5 TDs. Project that to a 17 game season, and that’s 1210 yards and 9 TDs. That would be better than Kelce’s 2021 numbers. If he hadn’t missed the first game of the season, we’d be 8-2, he’d have maybe 700 yards, and no one would be chirping.
This is why I’m not freaking out. If we win out (and we should win out), we’ll almost certainly hold the tiebreaker over any other 14-3 team, due to just 1 AFC loss. If we don’t win out…well, as long as the Ravens and Browns lose a game down the homestretch, we’ll still probably get the bye, because we have the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Dolphins and Jaguars.
Yep. If we don’t have two RZ turnovers last night, we win by 2 points.
It was a rainy, cold night. Wet footballs are hard to catch. I’m not losing faith in our guys.
Deshaun Watson
Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen
Justin Herbert
Joe Burrow
CJ Stroud is going to be a perennial threat and Manning to Mahomes’ Brady!
I think the Eagles are a tough team with a lot of wounded pride, so I think they might win this one. Especially if Andy Reid is taking the galaxy-brain perspective, and trying to save the stuff we’ll need to win a Super Bowl. But it definitely feels like we’re playing with house money right now, so I’m not really *worried* about it. It’ll be a fun one. As long as everyone comes out of the game uninjured, I’ll be happy.
Thanks! Bummer about the concert death/delay this weekend. Was looking forward to the Kelce/Swift family meet up!
Puts that 21-20 win over the Chiefs in a different light, now that the Lions are 8-2 and the Chiefs are 7-2, doesn’t it?
Keep in mind Pacheco had a broken hand and a torn labrum he was playing through last season, which he had surgery to fix. And the team is trying to spread out the carries to make sure he and McKinnon are both healthy this postseason. So I wouldn’t get too hung up on counting stats. His rates are still solid. He’ll be there when it counts.
It’s a fun bye week shit post with 100 upvotes. Scroll past it if you don’t like it. 🤣
It says a lot about this team that I’m 1% worried about the score and 99% worried about Justin Reid, Drue Tranquil and Donovan Smith.
