I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately when compared to last year, it always felt like Patricia was trying to run a more complicated modern scheme that implemented more rub routes and complex route schemes to create separation (albeit was done poorly). I remember constantly seeing receivers running into each other due to timing or execution issues. It seems like that has gone away entirely however the offense most definitely has taken a step back this year.

BoB schemes seem to rely on WRs creating separation themselves, using more traditional route trees and play action to create that. Is this offensive scheme too far gone in todays NFL to be viable? Or would the regression of the offense fall mostly on the players due to lack of execution?

So it was too complicated when Brady was here for any receiver to understand. Now it’s too simple.

    This fanbase. Ffs.

At one point in the replies, he waxes poetic about flood zones being as old as the NFL itself and how he maybe confused himself. I can’t remember exactly because it was the moment I drove through the barrier into oncoming traffic.

It’s basically been the same system since 2010. Working the middle of the field. Problem is, Mac can’t throw an out route and floats his deep balls like Henry Rowengardner after he lost his arm. Defenses now just flood the middle and mac doesn’t get the ball out quick enough to the receivers that are open which makes the line look bad and makes the WRs look like they can’t get separation when they in fact do. The ball gets there too late or hangs in the air too long allowing the coverage time to recoup

Not sure how much simpler it can get. Only throw the ball to people wearing the same clothes as you seems to be to complicated for Mac.
