I’m kinda loving this. It’s like he thinks he was on Favre/Montana/Elway level back then when he was a glorified back up. Like, dude, Trent Dilfer was better than you. Its been thirty years let it go. And before you say Barry was an issue; if the passing game was more of a threat, if they were worried you could beat them with your arm, then Barry wouldn’t have had rough playoff performances. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2023/11/21/ex-detroit-lions-qb-scott-mitchell-rails-against-barry-sanders-doc/71668326007/
Meh. Scott gets a bad rap. Lomas Brown admitted to letting defenders by to sack and injure Mitchell. Fuck lomas. Of course now he’s in the ring of honor or whatever and a broadcaster. Feels like it should be a bigger deal but maybe its more common in the NFL than i realize.
Mitchell is a local sports radio commentator here in utah, or at least was, but man was he insufferable and had such horrible takes which after reading this isn’t a shocker
While Barry Sanders didn’t really indict anybody the fact that Scott Mitchell is so offended is hilarious. There have been a million reasons why the Lions weren’t successful and Scott Mitchell was just one of them but the arrogance of this asshole to think that Barry called him out or that Barry said he was the reason that they weren’t successful is so fucking funny
Yep. Same old Scott BITCHell.
Hey …I won my very first fantasy league with Mitchell and H. Moore! I believe he threw for over 4000 yards that season.
There wasn’t even a mention of him in the documentary
He made some good points, though. I wasn’t alive during his time as a qb, but you really can’t pin the blame on a team not going to the superbowl because of one player. So he has every right to defend himself and his abilities. Most of the times a winning team isn’t dependent on who the qb is. It’s often dependent on couching and how well the WHOLE team plays, not just one member but the WHOLE team.
