It happens….it happens to every team in the NFL. It is what it is.
It happens….it happens to every team in the NFL. It is what it is.
Ok…I am gonna be “that guy” here…but…
Does it really matter? This game is hard enough to manage at the NFL level. Do we really need to turn it into soap opera levels of drama that they might have to deal with publicly?
The truth is that the offense sucks or sucked(depending on your level of optimism). Changes needed to be made and should’ve been made earlier.
How it happened is irrelevant.
When I wake up on Monday mornings, my liver is usually sitting on the edge of the bed next to me…crying…
Interesting…I wonder if some of those fines helped to fund our small high school football team? I know the Steelers bought a bunch of equipment for us and helped the district start the football program.
Our district at one time was split into two schools. Middleburg and West Snyder.
The two schools were too small for a football team, so it was a soccer only school. The Middleburg Midshipmen(Middies) and the West Snyder Mountaineers. They were bitter rivals too.
In 2004, the two high schools merged and became Midd-West high school(to be followed by the rest of the schools) my son was actually in the first Graduating class of Midd-West. Our mascot is the Mustangs
Anyway…it took till 2018 for the establishment of a football team. The residents didn’t like the idea of a football team for the longest time…”soccer was good enough for me, we don’t need a football team!”
Well, once it was finally approved, the Steelers somehow got involved and became our Sponsor…which, as a Steelers fan was pretty cool in my book. They even invited the kids to training camp that year and let them down on the practice fields.
I like Josh Dobbs and am glad he’s generally doing well. He deserves it. Too bad he had a rough game.
People have to remember that Dobbs was not very good when he was here. He is now a seven year veteran and has learned and grown as a QB over those years.
Our fan base doesn’t have the patience to let Pickett develop over 2-3 years, let alone a Seven year Josh Dobbs timeline.
I wasn’t nuts about the HB tosses though….it seemed they took the place of the Jet Sweeps. I think only one of the 4-5x I saw them run it did it net any significant yardage(one of the Harris attempts, I believe).
Cut his ass? No. Trade his ass after the season? Yes. Get something for him…even if it’s a warm six pack of Iron City.
It seemed to me it was one play…early on in the game. He was trying to make somebody miss and didn’t.
The rest of the game, he did his job.
I think you are reading too much into this. Sullivan will be involved in game planning too. It’s not coaches only speak to one another on game day.
Heck, all the offensive coaches…along with Mike Tomlin will be strategizing throughout the week and implementing that plan in practice. They do the same on defense throughout the week.
Faulkner and Sullivan will be working together. Sullivan has more NFL experience, which is likely why he’s going to do the in game play calling.
I mean, we don’t know the specifics. Maybe Sullivan said “man…I’ve done this job(OC) a few times, I don’t want the time commitment or the stress”
Faulkner, who was only OC for 2 years at Ball State and his only NFL experience is his stint here in Pittsburgh.
Maybe due to his lack of NFL experience, either he doesn’t feel comfortable or Tomlin doesn’t feel comfortable with calling the plays in game.
But, they will be on the same page come game day.
What is this Madden 2024?
lol….
The Batman ones? I thought maybe the team dropped a hint in the offseason about those. They posted a photo of “The Batman” for no apparent reason. Too bad it didn’t happen.
How about Dwight “hands of” Stone?
Huey Richardson and Jamain Stephens. Remember he came to camp and couldn’t even finish the conditioning test?
Yeah…but don’t you think it’s better to just keep it in the Super Bowl era? My god…we’d have to do a deep dig into Pro Football Reference to figure that all out.
Oh…l.look what time it is……it’s GFYS time!
Kenny is our QB till at least the end of next season. Bank on it.
That’s when they have to decide on his 5th year option.
I am genuinely a Tomlin supporter. That being said? I think he should start out on the hot seat next year if nothing improves throughout the rest of this season.
If my last name was Rooney, I would give him until the end of next year. I would STRONGLY encourage him to bring in an experienced and innovative Offensive Coordinator for 2024.
The I would wait and see what happens.
I think he deserves a chance to right the ship, but my big worry is that he has lost the locker room by hanging onto Canada too long.
No…on the game breaking interception, Andre Hastings ran the wrong route on a timing play.
And I say this as possibly one of the most broken hearted fans that day. You see, I was married to my first wife…whose whole family were Cowboys fans.
I watched the first half over at their house…the Steelers were losing and they were celebrating. I left for home at halftime. In the second half, the Steelers started coming back…I was starting to get excited about the game and….someone punched me right in the dick. I sat there in my house…alone…a 30 year old dude crying like a little kid.
Nope. Our problems are fixable.
We need help at IOL, SS and ILB(again). We have lesser needs at OT and CB.
Quality IOL and Strong Safeties can be found in rounds 2-4. Same with ILB. They are also cheaper to find in Free Agency than OT and CB’s.
At worst(barring injuries) we are looking at possibly replacing Pickett after next season if he doesn’t make a significant jump.
