I know there’s a few people in here who actually know football and knows what’s going on but there is way too many who want to keep making these posts saying that we made a mistake cuz CJ Stroud is so much better. There’s no quarterback who could come to this team and succeed. Starts with our incredibly bad owner. Since he has taken over it’s just been one mistake after another from coaching down. GM has traded all of our talent away and done nothing with the pics that he got. And 100% confident that it was our owner who made them trade away our future to take a undersized quarterback who would be on a badly coached team with no talent. Have to remember this was the guy who was willing to give up everything to take DeShaun Watson knowing the horrible shit that he did and that he would not be able to play for a year. And our coach has absolutely no talent to work with. Have bad receivers, a bad running back, offensive line who my grandmother could get through and hit the quarterback, and we’ve been decimated on defense by injuries. You could take any quarterback in history and he could not succeed on this team. Y’all have to start understanding what’s really going on here, sorry horrible team from the very top down and I have no idea what they’re going to do to fix this because it’s going to take so many steps and so much time just to make us a mediocre team. This is in no way Brice Young’s fault, is he the future? I have no idea, I do know is that Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, hell you could go get Joe Montana or even Dan Marino and they could not win on this team. Y’all are asking a rookie who is just learning how to play in the NFL to win in one of the worst situations and on one of the worst teams in recent history.

    Some things to consider:

    • Houston is 4th best in the NFL in pass block efficiency, Carolina is 29th

    • Houston has 3 WRs in the top 12 of yards/route run, Carolina’s best WR in y/rr is Thielen at 45th

    • Houston has 3 WRs in the top 15 of average separation per route run, Carolina doesn’t have a single WR in the top 50

Stroud just has better OL, WR, and coaching, and he’s taking great advantage of it

I don’t think people’s comparison of BY to Stroud is as much a knock on BY as on Fitt/Tepper for drafting the (seemingly) wrong QB.

The Houston team is better than people thought, but CJ Stroud is also having a historic rookie rookie season.

The Houston off-season was the polar opposite of the Panthers. Their FA RB is their RB1 averaging 4.1 ypc (Sanders was benched), they drafted Tank Dell who is on pace for 1200 receiving yds (while Mingo is lol), signed Schultz at TE who is on pace for 400 yds (while Hurst sucks), picked up Shaq Mason on the OL who is playing like a top 10 guard, and drafted Stroud (without giving up anything) who is having a historic season.

Like they literally made the exact same moves as the Panthers but got them all right and Panthers got them all wrong.

I think that is more the frustration. Specifically Stroud outplaying BY when the Panthers could’ve drafted Stroud (yea, the Panthers situation is much worse and Stroud wouldn’t be as good, but he’d almost certainly be playing better than BY right now)
