  • Look, there’s plenty of things to have an issue with Tepper about, but the head coaching issue is not it. He gave Rivera an extra season that he didn’t deserve as a second chance. Rivera didn’t work out, so we rightfully cut bait. Then, Tepper put his money where his mouth is and signed the hottest head coach candidate in the 2020 offseason. It was a widely praised move. We spent a ton of money for it. Then even though he should’ve been fired after year 2, Tepper gave Rhule 1 more year to show ANY improvement, and when he didn’t, we rightfully cut bait again. Then, Tepper, after learning his lesson about an all-rookie coach squad, again put his money where his mouth is and put together a coaching staff absolutely soaked in experience and success. And when that failed hard, and we saw no chance of improvement at all, we rightfully cut bait again

One thing you CANNOT say about Tepper is that he has 0 interest in getting the right coach, because he’s spending a ton of money and giving people more chances than they deserve

  • He’s a rookie who’s having his confidence wrecked and bad habits installed, so I honestly find it difficult to just name him as a problem. This is turning into a Tua/Lawrence/Geno situation where the coaching and team is not built to help or develop him his rookie season, but I’m not ready to bail on Bryce because if those guys can turn it around and make the jump, then it’s not a bad thing to think Bryce can, but for right now there’s nothing at his disposal right now that he can rely on

  • I get that firing Fitterer accomplishes nothing at this time, because he’s not really doing anything and his real duties won’t begin for a couple months anyways, but Reich is having an immediate direct impact on the team right now and this includes potentially crippling the guy we spent a ton of resources on. Firing Reich now potentially reduces the chances of us calling it quits with a permanently ruined expensive QB, and that’s really all that matters to me. We need to make the moves now to salvage what we can with Bryce otherwise we’re pretty much locked into drafting a new QB once we have a FRP in 2025

  • This rhetoric is very black or white. It’s not that you have to step in and immediately have a winning season, it’s that you have to show some improvement in not only from the previous season, but from week to week. Last year we finished the season out pretty strong and even came within a game of winning the division. But despite having mostly the same roster with a better QB option and supposedly better coaches, we’re looking worse than any of Rhule’s seasons. On top of that, the team as a whole continues to look more and more undisciplined every week. Sometimes you don’t have to wait for a 2nd season to know when someone just isn’t it, and it’s not a bad move to move along early, I’m sure any future coaching candidates will be adults about it and understand that their predecessor was the architect of their own quick downfall
