I suspected this when I watched the game and they acted like John was just another guy but this now confirms it. Just sad they didn’t do anything on the broadcast to celebrate so many fans’ favorite player ever.
The reasoning in the article was given as “Our instruction to talent is to play the ball where it lies. Our fans are smart, and they get it. We don’t need gratuitous comments on either side of the ledger,” by Zach Leonsis. Makes no sense to me to apply this principle to someone like John Wall.
WTF is wrong with these people? John Wall gave some of his best year to DC, still remember him wearing a cast going up against the Hawks and he was always involved in the community. We need a new owner, sell the damn team already Ted.
To me Zach’s legacy is firing the best commenting duo we’ve had in franchise history. Fucking up the sound system in the arena to where if you sit in the lower bowl it just sounds like a distorted mess.
And as far as the luxury spaces and whatnot it feels like he’s trying to turn a Wednesday night at a wizards game into a Friday night at the club. I am sure a ton of people actually appreciate that, but I find it kinda weird.
He’s a fucking brat.
“our fans are smart, and they get it. so smart our camera guys don’t even need to capture every play, our fans just know what happened on the floor.”
How is Drew Gooden talking about nonsense entertainment?
I want them to talk about basketball and provide insight to both team’s play (good or bad). Not talk about Crumble Cookie franchises.
This has echoes of Angelos. I hope Ted can pull Zach’s head out of his ass.
LeBron come save us with your expansion team!
Root of the problem start at the top.
