If Chicago is looking to blow it up then isn’t this a decent fit for OKC?
Don’t get me wrong about Giddey - I like him. Love watching him pass and his little floaters et al. But until he becomes a legit threat from the arc he’s a liability with SGA, Chet, and JDub.
Is it the age? Contracts? It’s not like OKC doesn’t have trade material.
So why not?

No. LaVine is a streaky inefficient ball hog who can’t defend, and he’s on a big contract.
I don’t think as high of Giddey as most on this sub, but he’s definitively more valuable than LaVine. In his eight years in the league, LaVine has shown ZERO indication of being a winning player.
Zach Lavine isn’t inefficient or a ball hog. He has had a 60 TS plus his last 3 seasons.
I don’t think he fits here either but let’s not lie about his play lol
Zach Levine is fun af to watch on league pass when he’s cooking. But he doesn’t cook nearly often enough and he doesn’t play defense or pass or even seem like he’s happy when his teammates play well. Please do not make me have to root for him.

Zack Lavine feels kinda random. He doesn’t address our biggest issue (rebounding). He’s historically a plus 3P shooter but he’s having a not-great year from deep and with all his injuries it’s reasonable to predict that to continue. And he’s a high usage ‘heliocentric’ type player; not quite to the extent of Shai but he’s also smaller and not very good on defense.
Idk; the only real thing the trade has going for it for me is that he’s available. Would seem like a panic move. I’m fine traded Giddey if needed but this ain’t it for me (now if Lauri becomes available, let’s talk)
