This JB debate is absurd. Nobody hates JB or wants him to do bad. There are people who want to talk about the stats and truthers who think they’re eyes are a better judge of ball than stats.

Imma raise my hand as a critic and own it. He’s an unbelievably talented player, like top 20, maybe higher…when he’s playing within himself, his (admittedly stupid high) ability and offensive scheme.

He was making all the right passes last night, only took 2 or 3 dribbles most possessions and passed if his path became blocked instead of forcing it. That’s it, that’s literally all he needed to change. Even if he didn’t hit his shots I’d still be happy with how he approached the game last night.

I love JB, I get mad thinking about how he got booed when we drafted him, he’s the only jersey I own right now…but that’s why I get frustrated when he’s not playing smart. We all know what he’s capable of and i think it’s fair to be critical, while still appreciating him as a player and person.

Some ppl go way overboard though, I recognize that and totally disagree. He’s our guy and he’s been through plenty of unnecessary bullshit already. There’s a line between wanting your best players to be your best players vs being a dick and rooting for the downfall of one of our best dudes.

If JBs smile after the Sam lob didn’t unfreeze your cold heart then you might need a pulse check.

    I think this is ridiculous.

I think most of us who criticize JB, criticize him for playing selfishly, we can cause us to lose.

And so him deciding not to play selfishly and having probably his best game of the season is an indictment on his critics?

He shot 16 times against the Bucks, only 5 from 3 and had 8 assists on just 1 turnover. Why because he didn’t force things and looked to be a playmaker, which is exactly what his critics have been on him about.

I’m pretty sure all celtics fans want the team to win and they want JB to be great and the potential is there, he can just be truly boneheaded sometimes. To compare his performance here against what he did in the last two games where he played iso ball or the quick 3 pointer, he was playing by himself, but people don’t want to acknowledge that.
