I’m a big Mordhau player, its one of my favorite games, but a friend of mine has a habit of getting too involved in the community and finding all the cheese strats. He memorizes all of them and gets upset whenever they are used on him, to the point he feels like “Everyone I play against is just spamming cheats”. Personally, since I don’t interact too much with the community, I’ve never had this problem. What are some personal examples like this?
Not a video game, but Yugioh. There was a band of thrives who would take peoples binders worth thousands while there were competing. They never got caught.
CSGO and Overwatch. Maybe it’s cause I’ve gotten older, but I genuinely can’t take being forced to listen to children screaming for an hour.
Most games can’t be ruined for me, because I don’t judge games by the people who play them and instead by how much enjoyment I derive from playing.
Obviously in online games there’s no avoiding the community, but finding the best way to best your opponents is natural to ALL pvp games.
Rocket League.
I might’ve been able to get over my frustration at the skill gap if I wasn’t constantly playing against walking tumors
Every online game will be shit, even Monopoly. Thats because of you play with completely random strangers and “morons>regular people”.
CoD was good from the beginning to BO but it’s terrible now
Smash bros ultimate. I was taught by someone in a discord (who now is my friend after warming up to the other members) A whole year went by of me going through character after character. The 1v1’s this person and I had were basically me going 0-10 day in and day out, but I am the type to not get salty and tough it out. It wasn’t til a bit into the third year that i’ve decided to pick up Pikachu and “git gud”.
We are still friends and i’m still in the discord. Learning the game and getting beat over and over didn’t discourage me, but new member keep coming in wanting to have a chance and the guy I learned from doesn’t exactly know how to take it easy. I’m wanting to teach them, but they are all too scared now.
Final Fantasy XIV. In the last 3 or 4 years, it’s become just about as toxic and bigoted as any other online space.
Overwatch
Elite Dangerous.
The reddit community is very good. The in-game community, not so much.
Smash Bros
- The competitive scene keeps on giving the franchise a bad reputation.
- Players have rage-quitted more often than any fighting game.
- Speculations tore the community apart during Ultimate’s passes.
- People are STILL salty that they favorite obscure characters didn’t make the cut.
- The fighting game community has trouble accepting the franchise in their ranks, but not so much trouble with clones…
Warframe warframe. The thing is when you first play this game, its all cheery, it seems like this community is the best ever, people being nice to you at first. But thats the thing if you’re not simping and having this cult like hive mind mentality with them thats when you see how sensitive and soy this community is.
You cant critique the game in any way and anything the devs do is the best thing ever and if you dont believe that the community will show you just how unwelcomed you are. They’re some of the most sensitive and edgy community I’ve ever been part of and hope this time around I really quit the game.
I had stopped playing it for 2 years cause the devs did a stupid nerf, one of many over the years, that had me fed up with them for good but then a friend got me back into the game and yea. He stopped playing and eventually saw what I hated in the game and then stopped playing it. I kept playing it for a little while more till some community members finally annoyed the shit out of me enough with their trash opinions and personality for me to say ok fuck it not playing the game no more.
I just despise the mentality many these rejects have. For those that know warframe and know, you know. Hell even many warframe youtubers are starting to turn on the game now. They’re finally seeing how two faced the community and devs are. Wasnt always like this but the games gotten popular over the years and seems to have attracted these types.
These devs are no longer getting my money tho. I use to donate to their cancer charities a few years back every concura stream they had. When one of the warframe youtubers talked about their parent being sick I donated to that warframe youtuber. Its a shame that youtuber and many became what I hated about this community and the devs.
I just wonder if I even made any tiny amount of impact with the player base. While I was playing it I loved helping people and gifting them stuff to lessen their grind. I would tell them just make sure to do the same for others when you can.
This game was my comfort game, my peace of mind.
WoW
fortnite
Really which one hasn’t?
