Blown out wk 7 at Baltimore. Pretty shoddy win against a terrible Vegas team on MNF wk 8. Then the bye. Barely squeaked by the Chargers where the D was total garbage in wk 10. Barely squeaked by awful Chicago in the same fashion in wk 11. Then today, another garbage showing from both Goff and the defense, when the team should have been pumped up to win at home against their nemesis on Thanksgiving before a national audience for the first time since 2016. They just aren’t as good as we all had hoped. The Minnesota games are going to be huge. They will probably make the playoffs, but will lose against Dallas, Philly, or SF.

Even after Tampa, I felt we still hadn’t played our best game. First half Packers game felt great, if that had carried through the second half I would say it was peak Lions domination. Will we see that kind of game for the rest of the regular season remains to be seen.

I’m glad people are starting to realize this and not just drinking the kool-aid endlessly. D has fully regressed to last year’s lows, making the good games look like more of an aberration than a genuine turnaround. Offense is better overall than last year with dmont, gibbs, laporta, and jamo, but Goff’s alter-ego Goof has been coming out a lot more lately.

I’m not feeling good about our upcoming games. We could very easily go .500 down the stretch and lose the division to the vikings. I don’t expect us to do anything in the playoffs, but being a wild card and going on the road doesn’t exactly help.

The run defense was so anomalously good at the start of the season that it helped compensate for the pass defense, but it was always bound to regress.

The pass rush is harder to figure out because it’s not clear if they were overperforming to start the season or if they’re underperforming now.

If were being honest? We havent looked playoff ready since cjgj went down. We just arent complete. I think we hit the offense too hard the last two drafts and left the defense talentless and we have coaching issues (and not mcdc)

But yeh , we can make the playoffs. Maybe cinch a homegame win but we are vastly outgunned by the dynastic competitors, and this isnt something a flashy signing would have solved.

Last year at this time we were beginning the team nobody wanted to play. Now we’re becoming the team everyone wants to play to get right.

Yeah I agree completely. I’d feel better if we beat the teams we were supposed to beat by wider margins like Dallas continues to do. Truth be told we’ve lost to every good team we’ve faced this year besides KC, and most of our wins against lesser teams haven’t been convincing except for maybe Carolina and even then we let them score over 20 points and they’re the worst team in the league.
