Should the Jets trade a potential top 10 pick this year for Davonte Adams? Thoughts?

The reality is, the Raiders WILL demand a 1st.

If you want Adams, it’s costing you a 1st.

The Raiders have no obligation to just give their best player to an AFC team simply because he wants to go there.

Imo, a good owner would actually put pressure on the GM by saying that if he is “all-in” on Rodgers, he would mention, not mandate, that maybe the best option is to trade Garrett Wilson for Adams and the Raiders 2nd.

The reason being is that Adams already has a track record with Rodgers and the Jets lack a 2nd. The Raiders would likely jump on this since Wilson has a proven track record of not getting pissed off being paired with a bad QB and not getting the ball.

Garroppolo isn’t the worst backup option for Rodgers next year either although I don’t know his contract status next season.

This front loads the budget needed for Garrett into a window not specifically aligned with Sauce and Hall.

But we don’t have an owner capable of such forward thinking.

And just to be clear, I wouldn’t want to trade Garrett, but it is a way to allocate salary into young players not dependent on decent QB play.

The Jets are not paying a top 15 pick AND picking up that salary. Full stop.

Wide Receivers don’t work without QB’s, QB’s don’t work without lines. Can’t trade for line, nobody will do that. Need picks to draft line, can’t do that without picks.

There’s no UFA worth shit. Like I said, I wouldn’t want to trade Wilson, but you have to give to get and Adams and, say, Curtis Samuel or Tyler Boyd, would be an upgrade over Garrett Wilson+nobody, and a line incapable of keeping Rodgers on the field.

    No. No. Absolutely not.

We need to prioritize the OL. That’s the only for JD this season if he wants to have a job

There are a few good free agent WRs this off season that I feel we could target that wouldn’t cost us a first round pick, I love Adams and he would fit great here but we need our draft pick this year for Oline in a loaded line class

No. You have your own younger and cheaper version in Garrett Wilson. You can’t go out for playmakers and continue to forget the offensive line. That HAS to be priority one. A good offensive line creates time and time creates new playmakers.
