Because if the offense still sucks with him for 2 weeks, then maybe Hackett gets fired and the team gets serious about an offensive line and maybe, just maybe, we could end up with a real OC like Bill Callahan who actually helps lines improve.
O-line’s hung out to dry by pass happy OC’s.
Owners not understanding that you need a line before a QB.
O-line play in the trash can.
RB’s devalued.
I dropped Cooper.
He is a good player and may have upside with Flacco, but hardly worth a roster slot based off Joe Flacco upside…
If you didn’t start Kyren Williams, you basically ignored that daddy came home from getting smokes after weeks of being gone.
Current design makes Bangle look good.
The ownership is also petrified of being so bad that they could actually get the first pick.
BMW. The bones are there. They just need to dump their styler and make sure they keep putting buttons in the cars.
Evans and Allen are both Hall of Famers.
Yeah the logic of some idiot who acts like this team hasn’t sucked absolute ass for 13 years and has had very limited pockets of success since 1969.
GTFO
Cohesive approach: Sign depth on o-line, draft o-line in first. They don’t have a second. Get a WR and developmental QB.
What Jets will do: draft D-line in first, sign Andrus Peat and Jonah Williams, who are both washed, start them, trade Breece Hall for Aaron Jones, trade Garrett Wilson for DeVante Adams, sign Matt Flynn out of retirement to backup Rodgers. Rodgers blows ACL and retires 2nd play of '24, Matt Flynn is garbage. End up with 7th pick, draft 3rd best QB prospect, ruin him because the o-line is still terrible. Fire GM and Coach. Re-do process again.
Breece Hall becomes all-time leading rusher in Green Bay history.
Garrett Wilson is an all-pro for 5 straight years in Vegas.
Sauce Gardner leaves to win a Super Bowl on a real team at beginning of 3rd rebuild of his career as a Jet.
Coaching the Jets does that to you.
Go look at Rex’s old pressers. '09-'10= 😃
'11= 😔 '12= 💀
If you wanna root for what the Jets should have been, root for either Minnesota or Cleveland.
Minnesota replaced an MVP candidate and came back from the dead.
The Browns are what the Jets would have been if their line wasn’t complete trash. And they lost their RB.
Now for the obligatory:
This is what you signed up for. This is one of the worst professional sports franchises there have been since 1969. Nearly 6 decades now. They don’t have their own stadium. The guy who profits on them is a spoiled rich kid who failed the only foray he ever made into business eventually settling for tax evasion and paying off the SEC. He is a loser.
Granted, there were a few moments: Parcells actually set this thing up to work for a sustained period even with Vinny’s achilles in 1999. But the rumors back when he left had to do with Johnson, and ultimately Belichick left on a napkin, even with a good roster and a very solid young QB (probably the best Jets drafted QB since O’Brien). Rex had his 2 year run. Tannebaum and he fucked that right the hell up.
From 1992 up to Parcells was awful. And to be honest, even during O’Brien it was mostly bad. Buffalo owned the AFC and the Niners and Cowboys were taking turns winning Super Bowls.
Since 2010 up through now has been brutal.
So this is what you signed up for. Some of you are young enough that even your parents weren’t born when Namath beat Unitas. This is what it is. It’s better to expect this shit and be surprised than expect anything else.
99 was worse. That team was LOADED. This one was flawed off the jump with that o-line.
'09-'10 were kinda fluky. We knew Jones and Tomlinson were near their sell-by dates. Beyond them and the line, the team wasn’t great. Hardly heart-breaking.
This ranks third most disappointing. First was '99, 2nd when Pennington’s shoulder turned to linguini.
This year sucks because the data says that as I was constantly disparaging O’Brien, he very well may be the best QB I get to see play in a Jets uniform for any sustained length of time at average to above play.
I hope he breaks 2K by the end of the 16th game because otherwise the Megatron aktually-er’s gonna come out.
FWIW, I hate drafting PAC12 QB’s to NYC too. It’s very likely that Wilson sucked anyway. So it’s just more sick endlessly stacking.
Do you guys watch other teams?
Cleveland hasn’t had a QB all year, their d probably has worse personnel than the Jets on a positional basis, but they have a good o-line and at least equal if not better WR’s.
You can’t win shit without an o-line. Trent Williams went down and the Niners lost 3 straight.
Literally all the mf’s who continue saying QB is vital ignore the o-line. The best o-lines in the NFL are the top teams in the league.
Who is to say Geno, Zach, or Darnold wouldn’t have busted if the Jets o-line didn’t suck ass every year or get hurt?
Jets should tell Rodgers to piss off, fire all the coaches, hire Bill Callahan and sign Jameis Winston.
Goes to tailgate Eats leftovers that went bad Gets drunk Trips balls Makes up LET TIM BOYLE
The biggest downside of MetLife is that the Spirals are gone that were full of the delusional/drunk/high as fuck Long Islanders who, during the Kotite era, were where 13 year old me watched the real entertainment.
Also the enormous guy who sat on the opposite end of the upper deck above the other end zone who wore a beret to every game.
It is insane how bad the turf at MetLife is.
Hahahahhahahahha
Get Boyle off the field ASAP
I don’t think it’s stressed enough on how bad it is to continually sign first time head coaches.
That’s a sign the owner is too cheap to actually get somebody with some HC experience.
Saleh was hired over Doug Pederson. Pederson won a Super Bowl.
I don’t think the Jets even interviewed him.
The Jets haven’t hired anything but a first time HC since Kotite unless you count Bowles interim HC gig with Miami.
