Is that common? Does it help you be immersed in the game Just listening to the sounds of the world? It’s just a random thought

For years, I’ve turned the music down at like 50 percent…dialogue I keep up all the way, bc dialogue is far more important to me than music

I hate when games have loud ass music during dialogue at least have it turn down automatically when having crucial conversations

Almost always. I usually have YouTube or Netflix on my second monitor.

All the time. When a game runs for hours and hours the music gets reused and starts to become annoying. Especially in open world games. I don’t always turn it off though, especially if the game uses music as combat indicators. But, short answer, yes.

I used to - there was a period a few years back when every action game had a dreadful grungy or dark metal soundtrack.

I didn’t want to hear that shit so I used to turn the music off.

    Thankfully, that trend went away.

I usually do this with fighting games, yes

I hate new Tekken ost for example, so bad in comparison to old ones, so just hearing smashing sounds and fighting roars is great

If I’m having a hard time with a boss I turn off the music til I’ve learned to deal with every attack. Sometimes I just keep it turned off for games like Fallout, Elden Ring and Oblivion. Oblivion never lasts long though, soundtrack is way too fitting.

Yes. 100% immersion means zero music for me. If I want a cinematic experience I’ll turn it on

This is a really weird concept to me because as of recently I’ve been turning down the sound effects in every game I play and turning up the music. A great game with bad music is a mediocre game. A mediocre game with great music is a great game.

Depends on game. Fps or rpg then I leave it on unless it’s annoying. Anything else it usually gets turned off unless it’s excellent.
