I’m blessed in that I’ve known nothing but the Brady era. This is… ugh

Why? The team hasn’t done shit to get better since Brady left. What, signed two massive contracts for TEs? Ouuuuuuu, scary.

I would agree with this as long as we add the qualifier “under Belichick”

Being last again is inevitable. But I for sure never expected this with a Belichick team.

If you grew up in the 90’s you have seen this. Pre 2000’s the patriots were pretty horrible while the bills were rolling coal to the super bowl every year and the dolphins were ok. Jets was the jets.

Drew Bledsoe’s 5-11 rookie season was so amazing mostly because the years it followed were so god damn abysmal. Fuck, he was a part of a groundswell of hope those first five years. Love him forever for it.

“At no point in my life” did I ever think my team wouldn’t be great? Get bent.

    So you’re young eh?

Because I saw this multiple times. In numerous years. From the 70’s through the 90’s.

    You spoiled kids.

Hope this doesn’t come off too douchey, but I will never understand this take. I suffered, therefore you must also

If I ever have kids, I want them to have a better childhood and a better life overall than I’ve had. I get that the Pats and Sox sucked for basically the past 100 years. But taking joy in watching the younger generations experiencing pain as our teams implode is a weird hill to die on.

That’s not the perspective at all.

It’s calling you what you are. Spoiled. Because you have this “I never thought I’d see this”. As opposed to “damn I wish I didn’t have to see this. I know you older folks saw this I wish we’d never have had these days come back around”.

You’re spoiled. Your generation of fans are spoiled.

And note. I didn’t call YOU a spoiled brat. Because I don’t think that’s what you are or that was how you came across. Some fans certainly do.

And as an aside. I concur about all of what you want for your kids. And my kids are likely the same age as you as all mine are adults now.

I didn’t express any joy. I’m not happy the pats suck. I hate it. But I also have perspective that sports teams don’t stay good forever. Because that’s just reality. It’s normally 3-5 good years 2-3 down. Then good again for a bit and so forth. What the pats did from 2000-2109 and one could argue beginning really in the mid 90’s. Is just unreal.

Good lord, the entitlement of the kids Bill and Tom gifted with a blessed childhood is unbelievable.

And it’s made worse that they’re a Simpsons-style stupid mob, waving pitchforks and demanding “changes”.

This team isn’t even that bad!! They have been “in” multiple games, with a chance to win in the 4th quarter. In 1992, they lost almost every game before kickoff. MASSIVE difference. It can get much, much worse.

“At no point in my life”. JFC, the entitlement.

That’s exactly what I say during patriots games after every single offensive snap this season. I started watching football in 2000.
