Let me be honest from the start, I’m a Belgian and probably a little bias. For us Belgian NBA/Basketball fans is Toumani in the NBA, more than amazing! But what do you Trail Blazer fans think about Toumani Camara? Was he really that unknown factor, wildcard, never expected asset?!

Like I’ve mentioned I’m biased but his energy on court reminds me a bit to players such as Joakim Noah.

When we’re competitive and ready to compete again, he’s an essential piece to this core. I’m not saying Camara is anywhere close to this player(obviously) but when I watch him on defense, he reminds me of Pippen. The size, length, tenacity, IQ, multi-positional defender, just like Scottie was.

Absolute lockdown defender, he’s on the right team to get time and be able to take shots to develop his game.

If you’re biased in favor of the Belgian Beast, you’ve come to the right place!

If he can find any consistent offensive qualities/abilities - His size could make Tisse a luxury POR can’t afford, as the worst offensive team in the league…

If you only have room for one defensive specialist, you take the switch-ability of the size on the defensive end every time… Unless, that player has absolutely zero potential NBA offensive skills.

This is my take as well. Especially since even if Matisse and Toumani continue to improve, it will still be multiple years before they can effectively play in the same lineups. Now the flip side is Matisse’s contract will be super team friendly when the cap goes up, so there is some reason to keep him and fip him later.

If POR wants to keep Mookie Dew, and he would be down to stay for a season, and if everyone is healthy - Where does Tisse fit, if Too Money and Shae are getting minutes at the 3?

If/when/as soon as, there’s a minutes crunch with Tisse, because of 2$'s play at his size, then you might have to move him sooner than later, for the best return/situation possible.

Toumani’s defense is great, but he’ll need to develop an outside shot. Matisse needed to, and he’s shot around 39% from three in Portland. Those two dudes hitting outside shots would be a menace on the wing.

Well, to be honest, I thought one camera would be enough to cover his defense and court mobility. But after a relatively small sample size into this season, I can confidently say there can never be too many cameras to capture the Belgian Beast.
