Title. The eye test tells me that Nembhard is better but I’m curious to hear what you guys think. Nembhard is an elite screen navigator, but I think Bruce is slightly better guarding 1 on 1. Thoughts?
Brown has way more responsibilities and if you are an absolute nerd like me and know the technical side of basketball very well, you see and appreciate him for doing so many things that people have no idea he’s even doing. He’s way more versatile and literally guards 1-4 and is quarterbacking out their and telling guys where to be on defense - even if they are on the opposite side of the floor. Just so many things that go beyond just tangible defense.
However, Nembhard is still incredible, especially in only his 2nd year.
It really it doesn’t matter “who is better” because they both play different roles and guard different positions. But right now, if I had to say - Bruce is mostly definitely the better defensive asset by far, he’s more consistent, more versatile, has more responsibilities and defensive assignments, and is the more impactful defender on a nightly basis.
But again, it doesn’t really matter and is kind of an “apples to oranges” thing. Both are very good.
right now it’s Bruce Brown
It’s Bruce Brown, but I genuinely believe we essentially “replace” him with Nesmith + Nembhard going forward.
