This meant to be a parallel to yesterday’s hyped game that disappointed you thread, but instead of being surprised by disliking it, here you are surprised by liking it
Skyrim
The division games Most people hate this game but ia enjoy every second of this games
I was pretty sure I hated games that involved finding things. Boring gameplay thought me. The other day I tried a free cat finder game on steam and it was super addictive!
The game is called An Arcade Full of Cats.Starfield. Everyone’s bitching and moaning about it but I’ve been having a blast (about 250 hours).
Borderlands pre-sequel. I think that many people don’t really like this game for a couple reasons but I honestly found it really fun. The low gravity was fun to play with, the laser weapons were op as hell, and it was honestly just a really fun game to me
My experience with it was that the gameplay felt so slow in that low gravity.
Loved the pre-sequel! The low gravity and slam attack was so fun!
Anthem. The complaints were legitimate but goddamn did I have a great time flying around those environments.
AC: Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 on launch
No man’s sky at launch. I was perfectly happy with it.
Avengers.
I pre ordered it as well and to this day I regret doing so but I absolutely enjoyed the game.
Starfield, though I’m taking a little break from it I have clocked in 350 hours. It’s a fun and good game that just needs more work and content added to it, then it’ll come back strong. Was worth my money
Kentucky Route Zero. Yes, it’s a bit pretentious but I really enjoyed it. A terrific surreal adventure, if not without its problems. Seems an odd game where critics love it but the average gamer really doesn’t like it.
Lords Of The Fallen. The first one. And the second one. Both are awesome and nothing you say can change the love I have for the two. Don’t even start. Fuck off. Your opinion vs. 180+ of my play hours.
Bio mutant. Randomly bought it on sale and enjoyed it a lot. I feel like going into it blind was good. The story is fun, the characters are good and the game is beautiful. Upon reading reviews I get why people disliked it, but I had a blast.
Rage
Everybody expected, and fairly, that this was going to be a bit like Borderlands, but it turned out to be nothing of the sort. Once I got over that, it turned into a solid conventional FPS punctuated by a weird driving minigame. The gunplay was great, the weapons were satisfying, the level design was good, and the visuals had some breathtaking moments. I also really enjoyed how the entire game is essentially an allusion and love letter to Half-life 2.
I thought the callisto protocol was pretty good but everybody kinda hated on it. A Similar thing happened with atomic heart, and I don’t really get why. (Other then how the protaganist constantly says “crispy critters” lol)
