Went on business travel to CA this month and decided to try driving a Tesla to see what it was like. Big mistake… coming home to my civic is painful. Coworkers told me a lot of my gripes like lack of buttons wear off after a month or so. I was already all in on electric for when my car eventually died but god, idk how long I will be able to stay ICE. Anyone else have similar experiences on test drives?

    My wife. We test drove a Mach-E, Ioniq 5, a Mini SE and a Model Y.

    Maybe it is because she is a big iPad user (teacher) but it was like her and the car were made for each other. We ordered it online immediately after the test drive. It is always a battle for who gets to drive it.

    As soon as the new Model 3 comes out we are getting one; then she can drive hers and I can drive mine.

    LOL NOOO! My 16 year old stick shift mazda5 was supposed to have a blown head 18 mo ago but the dealer was wrong. i’ve been salivating since then, and i havent even test driven one yet. but i think if i can keep my car running, i should do the major home repairs we need first. I’m thinking of going used at first, but not sure the value is there

    I own a 2015 Model S and love it to death. My mom owns a 2021 Subaru Forester. I love her car except for its annoying safety beeps and horrible CVT transmission. The build quality on her car blows away my Tesla.

    Tesla still sells me on its superior tech and smooth electric power.

    I thought this was r/electricvehicles’ routine anti-Tesla screed and upvote fest for the week. I am pleasantly surprised that it’s just a “I really enjoyed an EV I rented” message.

    OP, it’s tough to remain with ICE after you’ve enjoyed an EV. My rental experiences are often the opposite of yours: Since I have been driving EVs for many years, I find ICE rental cars hilariously under-powered, clunky, and loud. When driving a rental, I find myself thinking, “how are people deciding to buy new ICE vehicles in 2023?”

    The only thing that stops me from going ev is money.

    I don’t have a car right now, but I can get a used ICE for $5k. Can’t do that with an EV yet.

    Did a road trip in a M3P and actually didn’t mind coming back that much.

    I was glad I again had full control over the wipers.

      I thought you can disable the auto wipers, no? My coworker after my wiper complaints said you can control them with the thumb wheels
