Both the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6 have either 3G or 4G modems built in. https://www.ioniqforum.com/threads/5g-or-4g-connectivity.39708/
I looks like the Kia EV6 has a modem as well. We know the Mach-E has a modem.
Here are all the TSB’s for the Ioniq 6. For such a new car it has a lot of problems. Unfortuantely, without OTA updates, you need to go into the dealer to get them fixed.
If it was awesome, they would not be replacing it so soon.
It sounds like the new IAM platform may support true OTA which is a big negative for the E-GMP platform.
My wife. We test drove a Mach-E, Ioniq 5, a Mini SE and a Model Y.
Maybe it is because she is a big iPad user (teacher) but it was like her and the car were made for each other. We ordered it online immediately after the test drive. It is always a battle for who gets to drive it.
As soon as the new Model 3 comes out we are getting one; then she can drive hers and I can drive mine.
The UAW is very active on Reddit and there appears to be an anti-EV campaign going on.
Hyundai/Kia sales people are also common on Reddit and tend to be vocal.
EVs in the US are facing a wave of ignorance and legacy auto is taking advantage of it.
It is just another Tesla hit piece. The article is filled with hearsay.
The EV6 has had its fair share of ICCU issues:

If you Google " ICCU failure" you will see that new issues keep popping up.
Once they fix all the ICCU issues and add OTA.
The ID4 was/is a disaster.
It is the Chevy Vaga of the EV world.
The Vega received praise and awards at its introduction, including 1971 Motor Trend Car of the Year.[3] Subsequently, the car became widely known for a range of problems related to its engineering,[4] reliability,[5] safety,[6][7] propensity to rust, and engine durability. Despite a series of recalls and design upgrades, the Vega’s problems tarnished both its own as well as General Motors’ reputation.
The regulators have been working on this problem for awhile.
My 2015 Volt has a pedestrian horn that you activate on the stalk.
My Tesla sounds like a UFO when backing up. The Mach-E sounds like a bulldozer when backing up.
Madigan, is that you?
Like everything else in IL, the politicians and their friends get the rebates first, then the little people.

Volvo, Polestar, and Mini are made in China.
Do they count as legacy?
The award goes to the highest bidder.
Disagree
The EV revolution is going to occur at the low end. A $25K car with 200 miles of range (if GM wasn’t such a shit show they could have owned this space with the Bolt).
The US is ripe for a low cost car (like the Beetle in the 60’s or the Honda Accord, Datsun 510 in the 70’s). A low-cost, low maintenance, government subsidized EV is exactly what the US needs.
I think GM and Ford are going to continue making huge gas guzzlers (just like they did in the 60’s and 70’s). The wildcard are Chinese EVs. US OEM’s were able to take advantage of patriotism (buy American) which does not exist with Millennials and Gen Z. They will have no trouble watching GM and Ford go out of business while driving a Chinese EV.
This is very interesting.
GM, Ford, VW have failed in the EV market but Tesla and Hyundai/Kia have been successful. How does this paradigm fit into the cycle?
It is funny hearing all the Musk/Tesla owners so excited to use Superchargers. Tesla makes the best EVs and the best charging network.
VW/Audi makes the worst EVs and the worst charging network.
Chevy does not want to make EVs.
Ford cannot afford to makes EVs.
Hyundai / Kia have a history of poor quality under the hood (fires, bad engines, failing ICCU, …).
Volvo/Polestar EVs are made in China. When Biden lifts the Tariff’s, Geely and BYD will Wipeout legacy auto.
It sounds like the EA charger software is written by the same team that wrote the ID4 software.
Do not forget the sales person that keeps trying to sell you an ICE.
Based on my experience with asking Ford, Hyundai, or Nissan sales people about their EVs; for most questions your just going to get a dumb stare.
The sales people I worked with knew the price of the EV and that was about it. The Ford salesperson just kept saying “Mustang.”
Me: What is the range?
Salesperson; Mustang
Me: How long does it take to charge?
Salesperson: Did I mention it is a Mustang.
Me: What is the battery chemistry?
Salesperson: Must. Stang
Me: Tell me about the tech?
Salesperson: M u s t a n g
