Creator of the tech tool showed on a live stream that the performance improvement is negligible
No performance benefits with this tool and 4gb of VRAM bios tweak also doesn’t improve performance like it used to.
Mostly due to the 3,5,5 bios update it seams. Still a good tool for saving space but I’m going to skip when my oled arrives
So what’s the verdict on CU in regards to oled deck?
Am I so confused. I’m not a techy. Can someone explain to me what this all means?
This means nothing for now, since it was just the first test run. He will do his work and show the results in a separate video, as always.
Honestly? Wasn’t amazing before; not for what I play. I’ve been vanilla for a long time. No regrets.
After 3.5.5 there were time where I noticed, that 4gb vram and cryoutilities was actually hurting performance. It made me lose a few fps in Witcher 3 and was more stuttery.
same here, games on 3.5.5 with cryoutilities were super stuttery, I mean the fps was good, but frametimes and lags were awful, almost unplayable, I’d rather have less fps than consistent lags
No performance benefits with this tool and 4gb of VRAM bios tweak also doesn’t improve performance like it used to.
it NEVER has done jack shit ever and infact even hurts performance in many cases but placebos are hell of a drug.
It seems like the best use case for it before was to prevent crashes and stutters for specific niche games
Still required for Midnight Suns to not crash constantly, so I’ll keep it installed.
Cryo has always been a placebo besides in very niche applications.
Stock SD ftw.
It’s cool though that open source software is being recognized by Valve and they’re actively taking the steps necessary to improve their own software in order to make workarounds like Cryo obsolete. Literally no other company is going at it like Valve is.
they didn’t do shit that even remotely had to do with his old android build.prop tweaks. its always been “obsolete” from the day it was coded.
It’s funny how some people are so fixated on constantly trying to “debunk” the benefit of CryoUtils. The moment anything doesn’t show a boost/benefit, it’s a knee-jerk “see! see??!!”.
As if the concept of helping when applicable, and sometimes not being applicable is so offensive to you.
Well I got to say, God of War will not run without CryoUtilities
Although there is probably another way to adjust the swap file
I am not sure how to do it in Linux
Does this apply to the original LCD version? As I have the original with the vram swap. Should it be undone or does the original still require the performance boost? This man has done alot of great work for the community and helped me make alot of games run beautifully.
