Assuming results hold up and we end up with the #2 overall pick, do we go Caleb Williams? Drake Maye? Or Marvin Harrison Jr? For me personally I want Marvin Jr not just because of who his dad was but because he’s actually better than his dad when his dad was his age. The potential is there especially watching MHJ tape and highlights. So much hype surrounding him but also he would give us a generational talent at WR which we have never had.
Then for QBs to throw to MHJ…we can easily sign Kirk Cousins from Minnesota and you have a Cousins/MHJ connection in New England…QB/WR1 connection built easily
Then Rounds 2 and 3 we go WR again and then we go OT
Then in later parts of the Draft Rounds 4 to 7 we fill out other positions of need like CB, TE and OL
And then in free agency we re sign whoever and then we’re in business for next season
Or what would you guys do at #2?
we can easily sign Kirk Cousins from Minnesota
Easily is doing quite a bit of work in that sentence.
It’s QB, LT… THEN WR.
You don’t figure out your QB or OLine… I don’t give a shit how generational your WR is… he ain’t getting the ball.
You want MHJ and him to have Calvin Johnson career? Sure Calvin Johnson is one of the games greatest WRs… read me his playoff stats.
I want MHJ and Jayden Daniels. Throw in the tackle from Houston and our offense instantly gets younger with incredible upside. Also think Daniels’ dual threat ability pairs better with our O line strengths. We need a complete overhaul and that would be an excellent first step
Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels
At #2 I take Maye.
If Williams is there, and someone REALLLLY wants him, I’d take an absolute HAUL for him if it keeps us in the top 10.
I do the same at 3 for MHJ. I think if we can somehow come out of the 1st with some combination of Odzune/Nabers/Coleman with Daniels/McCarthy, it would be a better gain than only Maye or MHJ.
I think it’s a stretch hoping to take Maye or MHJ at 2 or 3 and hoping to get one of the remaining unless we spend capital to trade back in. I think we need to find a way to make at least 3 picks in the top 40 if we seriously think we can compete next year.
I wouldn’t mind Kirk but I’m sure there are teams that will need a QB that will be more appealing to him.
